Because of Vila do Bispo's unique location, on the edge of the Natural Parque, a short distance from the south coast, only five minutes from most westerly point in mainland Europe and a stone’s throw from the stunning west coast beaches, it provides an excellent location for walkers, birders, horse-riders, cyclists as well as those looking for a peaceful beach holiday. Sagres is only 6km away and Lagos, a 20 min drive. There are restaurants, a farmers market and a selection of local stores within walking distance. This area is famous for its excellent assortment of beaches, all set within the Natural Parque. A great area for walkers, golfers (Parque Da Floresta is just 5 minutes away), cyclists, horse riders, surfers and birdwatchers. Try Googling any of these beaches to get a flavour of what the area has to offer - Arrifana, Cordoama, Castelejo, Zavial, Ingrina.

Coast/Beach
The coast, which extends to the north and east of Cabo de São Vicente (Cape St. Vincent) is dotted with more than 20 beaches. Some are sandy coves hidden at the foot of cliffs, others broad expanses of sand that stretch away to the horizon. Each has its own particular charm. All invite you to discover them and to rediscover peace and solitude. Barranco, Ingrina, Zavial, Boca do Rio, Burgau, Cabanas Velhas, Castelejo, Mareta, Baleeira, Martinhal, Mouranitos, Barriga and Cordama and many more.
Golf
Parque da Floresta 5 mins away. Located amongst rolling, hilly terrain near the south-western tip of Portugal, the 'Land's End' of Continental Europe. The layout, designed by former Spanish amateur champion Pepe Gancedo, architect of the well-known Torrequebrada course near Malaga in Spain, was virtually carved out of the hills and many of the natural contours were retained. Unlike most courses, the controversial Parque da Floresta has an infinite variety of holes, each one with individual character.
Quinta da Boavista 15 mins away. Designer Howard Swan has successfully integrated his layout into the existing natural terrain, using the very features that make Boavista a delight to the eye. In addition to the 18-hole championship golf course and driving range, there is a teaching academy. This is a golf course that has all the attributes to fulfil the expectations of all golfers - irrespective of their playing overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the historic town of Lagos.

Thank you so much for giving us a 'home away from home' for a few days. Thanks also for being so good with the kids, feeding horses, playing with the dogs etc and for recommending such lovely places to visit during our short stay. Thanks again for making our holiday so relaxing. Rich Katherine, Ruari an Tara.
Lovely time, hospitable host and hostess. Vila do Bispo exceeded up to our expectations with almost instant access to beautiful beaches on the West and South coasts, sunsets at Cape St Vincent. Our hosts have been a reliable source of information, not just about restaurants but about where best to go. Fresh fruit for breakfast, and exotic shower and a spacious room, what more could we want. We will be back soon! Malcolm and Kathy 2008.
Dear Stephanie and Andy, We want to thank you very much for the lovely hospitality with which you have welcomed us. For the delicious marmalade, for the precious advice on the places to visit. We won't forget you. Thanks Silvia and Livio, Milan.
