A beautifully restored traditional spacious farmhouse. Quinta Branca is situated in an elevated position in its own grounds, stone walls and gated. There are far reaching views towards Faro and the Atlantic Sea, a 20 minute drive. There are many terraces surrounding the property, covered and open, a built-in BBQ and three outdoor dining areas. The pool is a perfect place to relax with its surrounding terraces. There is a large games room for the evenings entertainment with a pub size pool table, table tennis and a football table, to keep the children entertained. There is a large woodburning stove in the quinta which makes it very cosy for the evenings at Christmas time, blue skies by day and cooler by night. The cottage is self contained, ideal for those who would like their own privacy as well as being on holiday with family and friends.

Notes on accommodation
The pool is in a slightly elevated position with views to the sea it is not fenced, there are steps around the site. There are fans in all rooms. Wood burning stove in the Quinta and cottage. Washing machine, iron and ironing board. There is a sofa bed which is available at an extra cost of £150 per week.
Accessibility
The property has several steps outside and internally in both houses.
Outside
The swimming pool is private for the sole use of the guests 10 x5m and is 1.4m-1.6m deep. It can be heated by an optional electric heater which is charged at £190 a week, which maybe needed in April, May or October. The south aspect of the Quinta has a covered seating area, with table and chairs for 10. Close to the pool is a covered BBQ area, table and chairs, an old threshing circle with sun loungers, part covered, and additional seating around the pool side. The cottage has a BBQ, table and chairs.The games room is situated by the BBQ and pool area.
Coast/Beach
Faro's long sandy beach is a 20 min drive away. There are small islands which are easily accessible by ferry for more sandy beaches and fish restaurants.
Golf
There are many golf courses within easy driving distance approx 15 mins by car.
Special interest holidays
It is a suitable place to have a yoga/pilates retreat, where there is room for exercise on the roof terrace or around the pool. It is an ideal location for groups of artists to come on painting holidays, it is walkable to the local village of St.Barbara with its beautiful church or there are many locations within walking to paint the local landscape of olives,almonds, carob and farmhouses. Due to its layout and rooms, there is room to add more beds by request with additional costs.
Travel
Faro airport is a 20 min drive. A car is needed if you want to visit the area. You could arrive by taxi at the house, walk to the village and shop in the local supermarket, and eat out in the local restaurants, and spend the week relaxing by the pool.
Distances
Santa Barbara is 500m. Faro is a 10 min drive. Loule is a 10 min drive. Olhao with its large market is a 20 min drive.

Santa Barbara de Nexe is 500m away with a small supermarket selling milk, cheese, meat, bread, snacks, alcohol, newspapers and more, bank, bars, bakery, post office and restaurants.

Guest comments
Quinta Branca was just the most glorious place to spend a two week family holiday, set in a stunning location this property oozed character. For the adults it had everything we could have wanted on holiday, a large safe space for the children to roam in, a fantastic pool which was not full of chlorine (as most are) so there were no sore eyes or itchy skin issues, the most perfect area for outdoor eating and drinking. There is a lovely sun terrace just great for practicing yoga or escaping the family for a quiet read. The interior was comfortable and clean, with great beds!
Around the small village were numerous places to eat with some great Portuguese food on offer. All the restaurants and bars welcomed children at any time of the day and the locals couldn't have been nicer. To top it all the fantastic beaches were within 15 minute drive of the house and a great food market in the nearby town, Loule. Bird family, Newbury
