Beautifully furnished new apartment located in the centre of picturesque, peaceful Santa Luzia. The apartment is fully equipped, child friendly and has access to gardens and pool. An English/Portuguese-speaking company is on hand 24/7 to assist with all queries, eg. access to medical services. Santa Luzia is a traditional working fishing village of cobbled streets and tiled houses. It has excellent seafood and regional restaurants, and riverside cafes and bars. From the village you can easily access the unspoilt beaches of the Isla de Tavira by ferry, on foot or by tourist train. Buses and taxis go to the beautiful 17th century town of Tavira (5 minutes) and you are close to the golf resorts, historical moments and beaches of the Algarve, as well as the Spanish city of Seville.

Changeover day
Generally we accept bookings from Saturday to Saturday however during less busy times we are prepared to be flexible with the changeover days.
| Bedrooms: | Two very spacious bedrooms one with a double bed and one with two singles. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes. Both are air conditioned. |
| Bathrooms: | The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it, a toilet and a bidet. There is a hairdryer for guest use. |
| Kitchen: | The apartment has a very spacious kitchen, which is fully equipped with a hob and oven, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave, pots and pans, crockery, cutlery, children's dinner set and bottle steriliser (microwave). |
| Living Rooms: | The apartment has a very spacious lounge/diner which is fully equipped with TV and free to view English channels, DVD and CD player. |
| Other: | There is a small terrace at the front of the apartment with a BBQ which is big enough for alfresco dining. The terrace leads onto the gated gardens and swimming pools. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Towels and linen are included, both are changed once a week. There is a small charge for hire of the child travel cot with linen. |
Notes on accommodation
The apartment is on the ground floor and is accessible for people with small children and babies. The apartment has air-conditioning and heating. There are a number of items for baby use in the apartment (on request), these include: travel cot with linen (there is a small charge for hire), highchair, changing mat, potty, bottle steriliser (microwave) and Chicco baby walker.
Accessibility
Although the apartment is on the ground floor there are four steps up to the apartment door, which would make access for wheelchairs difficult. There is no ramp or lift.
Outside
The apartment has a small patio/terrace with a BBQ and outside furniture for dining alfresco. The terrace leads onto the gardens and to the swimming pools. There is a swimming pool for adults and a children's pool. There is plenty of shared furniture around the swimming pool, including lounge beds. The gardens are gated and locked.
Coast/Beach
The apartment is in the village of Santa Luzia, which is on the Ria da Formosa (river/estuary). The beautiful beaches on the Ilha de Tavira, which stretch for 14 kilometers, are reached by a ferry in the summer or a walk/drive approx. a mile to the west where you can take a tourist train or walk through the lagoons via a floating bridge. Barril beach has excellent facilities and very safe, guarded swimming. It is backed by sand dunes and lagoons, making for all year round bird watching.
Golf
There are a number of excellent golf courses and golf facilities within a fifteen minute drive of the apartment including the beautifully situated Benamor, Quinta de Cima and Quinta da Ria courses.
Travel
You are 30 minutes drive from Faro airport. However, a car is not essential to access Santa Luzia as it is served by local buses and taxis and can be reached by train from Faro. Seville in nearby Spain is an alternative airport from which to access Santa Luzia.
Distances
You are 30 minutes drive from Faro airport, 5 minutes from the 17th Century town of Tavira on the River Gilao, with its many bars and restaurants, and 15 minutes from the excellent golf courses of Benamor, Quinta de Cima and Quinta da Ria. Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo are within 30 minutes drive, with Vilamoura a further 15 minutes. All the resorts of the Western Algarve are within easy access, as is Spain, particularly the city of Seville.
Further details
Santa Luzia has a number of minimarkets and a pharmacy, while larger supermarkets and a fresh food market are located in Tavira.
The village has excellent seafood restaurants, cafes and bars that overlook the Rio Formasa, and restaurants serving traditional Algarve food in small cobbled squares.
Other activities include the new watershoot park at Loule (35 minutes drive) and you can swim with dolphins at Zoomarine (40 minutes drive). There is a sailing school located at Quatre Aguas just outside Tavira (5 minutes).
The Eastern Algarve has retained its unspoilt, traditional feel, with working fishing villages, blue flag beaches and small rural villages set in rolling hills.
