Beautiful new property (2007), light, airy and spacious. Set in the picturesque tranquil town of Sao Martinho. This area is very suitable for family holidays as this AA rated beach (top 12 beach in Portugal) gently slopes with lots of golden sand. Let the children enjoy climbing the nearby sand dunes in Salir do Porto the largest approx 50m. This area is still very unspoilt and offers great value for money. Enjoy meeting the locals and sitting watching the world go by at one of the beach front cafes. Enjoy a meal and a few drinks in the evening and leave the car at home. The Silver Coast is becoming more and more popular as people find and appreciate the genuine and unspoilt countryside and towns. We can arrange for transport to and from the property from Lisbon for a fee.

Preferably Saturday in peak season, but this is negiotable. Departure 10am, arrival after 4pm.

Notes on accommodation
This is a very spacious house with 4 large bedrooms it is ideal for 1/2 families sharing with the downstairs bedroom being particularly suited to grandparents. With a proper bed for everyone there is no need for arguments over who sleeps on the settee or early nights to free up the sitting room. This accommodation is fully centrally heated (for winter months). This property is non smoking (inside) and is provided with baby cot and highchair.
Enjoy the nightlife of Sao Martinho without having to listen to it when you want to sleep. Get away from all the hustle and bustle of your stressful everyday life. Enjoy some quality family time lounging by the pool, sitting around the bbq or strolling around the local sights.

Accessibility
Please note there is 3 steps into the house and steps from house to garden terrace. There is a downstairs bedroom and bathroom and no steps on ground level.
Outside
Very sunny terrace with own BBQ. Terrace is paved and decked. Outdoor garden furniture and patio chairs provided. This accommodation shares a pool with 5 other properties (open June - Sept), spacious sun lounging area and secure access to the pool. Property is accessed through electric gates so is very safe for young families. At night you can hear the waves crashing on the beach only 800m away.
Coast/Beach
This property is only 12 mins walk from the beachfront in Sao Martinho. The beach in Sao Martinho is very safe for families and young children as it gently slopes with no big waves. For the more adventurous the lagoon at Foz 10 mins and Peniche 25 mins are easily accessible by car.
Special interest holidays
Set on the edge of the town in a lovely country setting it is ideal for walks in the countryside or along the beachfront with easy access to motorway for Lisbon or exploring further afield. This area is renowned for it's water sports and activites with a wide choice and something to suit all the family. The property is only a 40 minute drive to the shrine of Fatima. For those who love walking and trekking this area has plenty to offer the cooling sea breezes keep the temperatures very pleasant for most of the year. If history and culture is your interest then you will be thoroughly spoilt. The area is seeped in history visit Obidos (fortified town), Alcobaca (gothic monastry), Monastry of Batalha, Shrine of Fatima, Tomar, Walk in the Dinosaur footsteps at Ourem, the Fort at Peniche which was later turned into a political prison that was operational until 1974 (a great visit for kids). These are just a few of the sights.
For Golfers the resort of Praia Del Rey is just a drive away.
Travel
The nearest airport is Lisbon, 100km / 1 hour by car. Most major English and Irish airlines offer a service to Lisbon. Sao Martinho also has a good express bus services from Lisbon with the bus and train station only 10 mins walk from the property. We can arrange for you to be picked up and dropped off from Lisbon Airport if you do not want to use public transport or hire a car.
Distances
Sao Martinho is very well located. The nearest large town is Caldas Da Rainha (10kms), which has numerous large shops and supermarkets. Areas of interest are Nazare, Obidos, Alcobaca, Fatima and Peniche all within easy driving distance.
Further details
There are plenty of restaurants and cafes within 10 mins walk of the property including bank with ATM, pharmacy, local shops and small supermarket. There is a private medical practice near the pharmacy. The nearest local hospital is in Caldas Da Rainha which has a paediatrics unit.
Booking notes
To book please check availability by email or phone. If you wish to proceed we require 20% booking deposit immediately with full payment 6 weeks before departure. In addition we require 100 euros deposit to cover breakages, damage etc. This will be refunded at the end of your stay subject to satisfactory property inspection.
