Beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with two terraces (35ft and 22ft long) peacefully situated with lovely views over local countryside, yet just around the corner from the market and shops, it's a wonderfully relaxing place to spend your holiday. Each room has air conditioning, central vacuum, surround sound, electric shutters and patio doors onto the terraces. TV and DVD player. The master bathroom has a 'jacuzzi' shower and there is a fully equipped kitchen, and double bay underground garage with lift to all floors. Secure garden with pool and play area. An hour from Lisbon, Sao Martinho is a friendly, relaxed community with a safe, sheltered beach and plenty of cafes and restaurants. The south end of the beach is a nature reserve with a boardwalk around to Salir do Porto. It also makes an excellent base for visiting interesting places like Obidos, Sintra, Fatima, Alcobaca etc. Surf beaches are close by, as are golf courses such as the award-winning Praia del Rey.

Changeover day
There is no fixed changeover day, but we would appreciate your departure by 10am. If this causes a problem, let us know and we will try to help.

Accessibility
The building has lifts, but there are some steps which must also be negotiated to get into the building and within the building itself.
Outside
There is a fully enclosed, shared garden with a children's play area, and pool with sundecks. (open all year, heated during peak months). There are sun loungers by the pool and tables and chairs on our terraces. We have an underground double bay garage and there are parking bays outside the building.
Coast/Beach
Sao Martinho has a calm horseshoe bay, ideal for families, with little boats moored there all year round. Because it's calm, it's also the warmest bay on the coast. There is a lovely promenade lined with cafes and restaurants. In summer there are shade tents, showers, life-guard etc. There is bicycle hire, and a play park at the end of the prom where the children can play while you watch from the cafes a few feet away. The self-serve ice-cream buffet is very popular with children!
Golf
Around 35 minutes from the award winning Praia del Rey, Campo Real and Rio Major. Half an hour from Peniche. 20 mins from Obidos.
Travel
An easy 1 hour drive from Lisbon on the A8 motorway. There is a train station with access from Lisbon, but car hire is good value and is recommended to be able to explore the interesting places nearby.

Obidos medieval walled town and lagoon - 20 mins
Foz do Arelho surf beach - 10 mins
Caldas da Rainha - 15 mins (large town)
Sintra - 1 hour
Nazare surf beach - 15 minutes
Further details
The market is two minutes walk around the corner. By the market is also a baker, butcher, deli, newsagent, internet cafe, florist etc. Supermarket a few mins walk. There are banks cafes, restaurants,take-aways, attractive shops and a tourist office. Nearby - riding, surfing, bodyboarding, walking, paragliding, canoeing, caving.
