Amarela has 4 bedrooms, 2 en-suite; the modern, wonderfully equipped and spacious kitchen opens out into the dining area and then into a beautifully furnished lounge, complete with flat screen satellite TV and PS2. The living area is surrounded by patio doors for a great pool and garden view, as well as easy access to outdoor life. 3 bedrooms open out onto a full length balcony overlooking the private pool. A small balcony overlooks the cobbled square; an added bonus is the roof terrace which has a view of the sea. The patios surrounding Amarela have been furnished for outdoor dining, an evening glass of wine as well as the classic BBQ. The gardens include an orange and lemon tree, a banana plant and a long soft grass lawn ideal for children to play on. The villa is decorated and furnished to the highest standard, with hand-painted pictures throughout the bedrooms and living area. Amarela is definitely a place to enjoy living in.

Changeover day
Our preferred changeover day is Saturday, but we are flexible.
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 double bed with en-suite - the 'citrus spring' room. Bedroom 2 2 single beds - the 'burgundy' room. Bedroom 3 2 single beds - the 'terracota' room. Bedroom 4 double bed with en-suite - the 'Autumn leaves' room. All are finely furnished. |
| Bathrooms: | There are 4 bathrooms and one additional separate WC. 2 en-suite. All bathrooms have a shower and 2 bathrooms also include a bath. The furnishing and lighting in all bathrooms is very tasteful. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is a pleasure to cook and prepare in. It includes large fridge/freezer, powerful radiant electric hob, split level fan oven, microwave oven, dishwasher and washing machine. There is also a toaster and kettle for the essential tea and toast. |
| Living Rooms: | The living room looks out onto the patio/swimming pool area. It's L-shaped cream leather sofa makes it an ideal place to kick back and relax, whilst watching TV, reading or looking out onto the garden. 4 sets of patio doors lead out onto the patio/garden. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Towels and linen are provided at the start of your stay together with a welcome pack of tea, milk, bread, hams, cheeses. On a 2 week stay there will be a mid-week clean and towel/linen change at the mid-point of the stay by our lovely English neighbours. |
Notes on accommodation
An ideal villa for children. Walled and gate access only. All gates are lockable. Amarela also has a safe to store your valuables and is alarmed with a simple key fob device for your safety and peace of mind. The pool is cleaned every day. The gardener comes once a week. Our neighbours, Clive and Angela look after Amarela for us, so any problems you have can be resolved quickly.
There is a supermarket located 2 minutes drive from Amarela. Pingo Doce has free car parking and will cater for all your needs, including food, alcohol, toiletries and BBQ charcoals.
Accessibility
A car can be parked directly outside Amarela. There are 2 steps up to the front door. A bedroom with double bed and en-suite bathroom is also on the ground floor which may help those people with mobility concerns, decide to come to Amarela. There is one step down onto the patio from the lounge area.
Outside
The pool is approx 10m x 4m in size. There are very comfortable sun-loungers with parasols and side tables around the large patio area for you to enjoy lazy days by the pool. The garden area is lovely and green with lots of different types of plants and young trees, including an orange and lemon tree. The long soft lawn is ideal for children. The built-in BBQ will help you decide to 'eat-in' some evenings. The separate balconies and patio areas with their own tables and chairs are also ideal if you want some time to yourself.
Coast/Beach
This beautifully furnished villa is in a perfect location to be able to enjoy all of the local delights; fish restaurants, cafes and bars whilst being a haven of peace away from any busy roads. Only 3 mins by car are the beaches of Praia De Ana and Praia De Mos, with the villages of Praia de Luz and Salema being only 10 minutes away by car.
Golf
The Algarve is one of Europe’s top resorts for golf. Amarela is in the perfect position to take advantage of 4 of the best: Palmares is only 2 minutes in the car and along with Boavista, Park De Floresta (both 5 minutes) and Alto (10 minutes) they all offer a round with views of the ocean. The challenging Penina championship course nearby often hosts a Portuguese Open tournament.
Special interest holidays
For young visitors there are various water parks with exciting rides for all ages; a zoo in Lagos and a marine zoo that offers the opportunity to swim with dolphins.
Travel
The best airport to fly into is Faro. Direct flights to Faro are from most UK airports. Routes are always being updated and many of the routes are operated by low-cost airlines (EasyJet, BMI Baby, Flybe, Monarch etc). Amarela is approximately 70 miles/1 hour from Faro Airport. It is a very straightforward journey along the A2 motorway exit junction 1 or 2 into Lagos. We recommend booking a car though Carjet for the best deal from Faro airport, or check out the airport website.
Distances
Lagos marina is no more than 1km from Amarela. Lagos town is 1.5km. It's a 15 minute walk, a very short drive (especially if you part at the back of the Marina). It's great to walk down in the evening and take a cheap taxi back to the villa at the end of the night. Local beaches and beautiful villages span the local area. We have maps in the villa with recommendations for beaches, restaurants and interesting places to go.
Booking notes
A non refundable deposit of 20% is required per booking and such payment will reserve the requested time period. The balance of the payment is required six weeks before arrival. Clients can make payments electronically or by cheque; bank details will be made available on request.
