Coast/Beach
Located on the Atlantic coast there is access to a large number of different beaches including locally just 5 mins drive at Foz do Arelho, 10 mins drive to São Martinho, 20 mins drive to Nazaré and then heading south just 15 mins drive to Peniche and Baleal. Surfing is very popular with various schools offering lessons and advice with a sailing school situated right alongside the lagoon just 5 mins away.
Golf
Praia del Rey, Quinta do Brinçal (Golden Eagle) golf courses within a 30 mins drive. Further details available about this and others at Lisbon can be supplied.
Travel
Lisbon airport approx 1 hour max an easy drive on motorways approx 88km. A car is essential to enjoy the many sights that can be found in this area. Porto 3 hours max. Faro 4 hours max.
Distances
Foz do Arelho 5 mins drive for your local facilities, the spa market town of Caldas da Rainha is a 10 mins drive, Medieval walled town of Obidos just 10 mins drive, together with a wide range of other interesting places to visit including Alcobaça, Batalha, Leiria, Coimbra,Tomar, Fatima, Torres Vedras, Santarém, Rio Maior, Lisbon, Sintra all within 1.5 hours drive.

At nearby Foz do Arelho there is a chemist, bank, butcher, bread shop, small supermarkets, post office, health centre, internet cafe, cafes and restaurants. At Caldas da Rainha just 10 mins drive there many banks, quality shops, larger supermarkets, weekly fresh fruit, veg and fish market. Railway and coach station to access all nearby areas.
