The apartment is on the ground floor, is fully furnished, air conditioned and set in beautifully landscaped gardens. It is a 5 mins walk to the pretty village of Alvor, which sits in a sheltered estuary midway along the curving coastline of the Bay of Lagos. Many excellent restaurants can be found in Alvor, offering a wide variety of cuisine to suit all tastes. The main Alvor Beach, which has 4 miles of beautiful golden sand, is a 10 minute walk from the complex, and has plenty of facilities, including restaurants and bars. Alto Club guests have access to sun loungers and umbrellas on the beach in front of the Restinga restaurant.

Notes on accommodation
The Alto Club is very child friendly, and has plenty of amenities suitable for children of all ages. The fifth bed is a fold-out. Both bedrooms and living/dining area are air-conditioned. Electricity and water included in price.

Coast/Beach
The main Alvor beach is a 10 minute walk from complex. This beach has 4 miles of beautiful golden sand, and has plenty of facilities including bars and restaurants. Alto Club guests have access to sun loungers and umbrellas on the beach in front of the Restinga Restaurant.
Golf
You are spoilt for choice, but here are some to consider: Alto Golf and Country Club has its own Championship Golf Course - Alto Golf, which is a 5 minute drive from the Country Club. This was the last 18 hole course to be designed by the late Sir Henry Cotton and guests enjoy preferential rates.
Penina, Palmares, Morgado and Boavista are within a 30 minute drive. Discounted golf rates can be arranged through reception.
Travel
Faro Airport is 45 minutes by car. Airport transportation can be arranged.
Distances
Slide & Splash, near Lagoa, is about a 20 minute drive from the Apartment, and Zoomarine with dolphins and amusements, near Guia, about 35 minute drive, are wonderful family entertainment.
Further details
The Ali-supermarket is a 2 minute walk from apartment. There are plenty of shops, banks, ATM machines, bars and restaurants in Alvor village.
Booking notes
A 20%, non-refundable booking deposit is required, with the balance due 8 weeks before start of holiday. Weekly rates are dependent on time of year.
Owner profile
About the owner
We are a married couple with three grown up children. A few years ago we decided we wanted to buy a property abroad and Portugal was our preferred choice. At the same time my brother and his wife were also interested in purchasing abroad so we agreed to pool our resources and buy an apartment together.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We had all spent a lot of time in Portugal, around Alvor and Lagos mainly and these were the two areas we considered. A work colleague of my husband had purchased an apartment in the Alto Club and we decided to rent this for a week in 2006. We were very impressed by the apartment and the complex. At this time there were no apartments for sale in the Alto Club, but one became available at the end of the year and we decided to buy it.
We chose the Alto Club for many reasons, the apartments are all very spacious, the complex is very well maintained and also for it's location at the edge of the village of Alvor. It is not necessary to hire a car. It is also only 45 minutes from the airport.
Unique benefits of the property
We try and visit the Alto Club as much as possible as it is a lovely location. The grounds are very well maintained at all times. The complex has lots of amenities, e.g. indoor and outdoor pool, tennis courts, gym, beauty salon, games room, poolside bar, restaurant and much more.
A huge advantage is the closeness of the apartment to the village, it is great to be able to walk into the village in the evening for a drink or a meal.
The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
There is a beautiful beach within a 15 minute walk, where the Alto Club have an area with beds and umbrellas for the use of their guests.
We provide all bath and pool towels which a lot of our guests say is a great help when packing!
