Alto golf, shops, bars and restaurants are all close by. Surrounded by landscaped gardens leading onto a large shared swimming pool with children's section and a play area close by. All have their own sun terrace with table and chairs. There are 2 secure parking spaces under the building with lift and video entry system in apartment. Both have towel radiators and are fully tiled floor to ceiling with beautiful ceramic marble tiles.
Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen with black granite worktops, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, toaster, kettle, cooker, hob and extractor above, flat screen TV, black granite effect breakfast bar with stools and all cooking utensils.
Living Rooms: Large and spacious lounge with two leather 3 seater sofas, both recliners, two large coffee tables, bean bags, shelf and storage unit, 37" flat screen Full HD LCD TV with DVD cinema surround system. Patio doors lead onto south west facing sun terrace.

linen/maid service:
Linen & Bath/Hand towels are included in rental cost. Towels & linen are changed for letting periods over 9 days. For 2 weeks or more they will be changed weekly. Beach and pool towels must be provided by the client.

 

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is fitted with top of the range air conditioning that provides cool air in the summer and heating in the winter. There are units in all bedrooms, dining room and lounge, making it an ideal place to stay anytime of year. The apartment is connected to its own large Sky dish enabling it to receive freeview English channels. All the terraces have enclosed safety glass balconies, making it an ideal place for children.The master bedroom has direct access from sun terrace to the pool and grounds. The pool has a children's section and a play area nearby. One high chair and one travel cot provided free of charge on request, please provide your own bedding for the travel cot. There is an automatic central vacuum system. If you have a large party or want to come away with friends we have neighbours who rent out their apartment too on the same floor, so please ask for details.

Accessibility
There is wheelchair access from the outside of the complex into the main building and there are about four steps up to the front door of the apartment. There is lift access from the underground car park with 3 to 4 steps to come up onto the ground floor before arriving at the front door. All doors in the apartment and out to the pool area are wide enough for a wheelchair.

Outside
Lovely outside area with large lawned spaces, plants and trees. The pool is very spacious with tiled steps down into the water and is exclusively for the use of the 19 apartments on the complex. The area around the pool is fully tiled with a shower. There is direct access to the lawn/pool area through a gate on the terrace of the master bedroom.
There are 2 BBQs available with wash basin and power points. Sun loungers are available for your sole use around the pool and there are steps leading down to the underground car park from the pool area. Outside lighting is placed around the gardens, pool and BBQ area. The whole outdoor pool, BBQ and lawned areas, are protected by a security fence, making it safe for children to run around in.

Coast/Beach
Some of the best beaches on the Algarve are around the Alvor area. Alvor beach is only a 20 mins walk away and is a massive wide open beach, popular with wind surfers and good for other water sports as well. Then there is Praia da Rocha which is a huge beach with acres of wideopen sand right infront of Praia da Rocha's seafront road. At the western end of the seafront road is Praia do Vau where there is easy access from a car parking area. Others include Prainha, Joao de Arens and Tres Irmaos.

Golf
The Algarve is one of the top destinations for golfers from all over the world and our apartment is right in the middle of some of the best. The Alto Golf course and country club is just 10 mins walk away. It was opened in 1991 and was designed by Sir Henry Cotton. It has a driving range, buggies, Club hire, trolley and power trolley hire and they offer excellent tuition. The Penina Golf Course is also nearby, a 5-10 min drive, and was also designed by Sir Henry Cotton. It is famous for its 13th hole and has a bar, pro shop and showers in the hotel. Other courses nearby are Boavista Golf, Pinta, Palmares, Pestana and Gramacho.

Travel
Alvor is a quick 50km (only 45 mins) from Faro international airport. Lisbon is approx 3 hrs drive away. We would recommend you hire a car to fully appreciate the natural beauty of the Algarve's beaches, countryside and other main points of interest, although taxis are very cheap and plentiful. There are many car hire companies such as Hertz and Europcar at Faro airport, or hiring a car on the internet is just as good. We can recommend Holidayautos. Taxi transfers can be arranged on request.

Distances
Alvor is the nearest village with all amenities including a small food market and is a 2 mins drive away or 20 mins walk. Portimao is the nearest town, about 10 mins drive, with many big shops and shopping centres, banks and supermarkets, it also has a large food market and other markets for clothes, shoes and handicrafts. 24km north of Portimao lies the Monchique mountains, drive up in to the tiny villages then walk upto the top to enjoy the views over the Algarve.

Further details
The nearest mini market is just across the road where there are also a paper shop, snack bars a dentist and a hair salon. There is a shop at the top of the road that opens early selling fresh bread etc and closes when it has sold out. Many restaurants are found along the main road back down into Alvor all within walking distance. The Por Do Sol restaurant is only a 10 min stroll from the apartment and offers excellent cuisine with attentive staff, at very reasonable prices. Alvor itself has a big selection of shops, bars and restaurants (the fish restaurants down by the harbour are fantastic) and is great for an evening out. There is a hospital and petrol station nearby and banks in Alvor and Portimao. Near the harbour in Alvor there is a new sports centre which has an Astroturf football pitch, tennis courts and a 25m indoor swimming pool.The new Portuguese F1 track has been built and is only 20 mins drive from the apartment. F1 teams are already booking the track for a testing in January 2009. The track will also be used for the World Super Bike Grand Prix on 31st Oct-2nd Nov 2008, A1GP (World Cup of Motorsport), World Karting and many more fantastic events. There are two water parks nearby and Zoo Marine which is great fun for all the family is also not far away. If you like karting there is a great track at Almancil which is a 40 mins drive. Flying lessons, parachuting and sky diving courses are available at Alvors airstrip and there is a 10 pin bowling alley in Torralta. These are just of the few leisure pursuits around, there is so much more for everyone to enjoy here in Alvor and the surrounding area. For those without a car there is an excellent bus service close by. We hope you enjoy it as much as us. The apartment has a totally non-smoking, non pet policy. Families with well behaved children are very welcome. If you are interested in renting the apartment we can email additional photos at your request.

Booking notes
The apartment will be available from the middle of November 2007. An initital deposit of £100 payable by bank transfer or UK cheque will secure your reservation. The balance is required 6 weeks before your holiday starts, along with a £200 refundable security deposit (refundable to yourselves after inspection of apartment and inventory checks). When the balance is paid, directions, details and emergency contact telephone numbers will be sent. On arrival you will be met by our representative.

Guest comments
Just returned from Alvor after a wonderfully relaxing week. The apartment more than exceeded our expectations. It was well equipped, spacious and very comfortable. We hope to explore the area further when we return and would recommend without hesitation. 17 - 23 April 2008.

We all had a wonderful holiday in a superb location. The apartment was excellent.We have been to the area many tmes but this was one of the best trips so far. Brilliant accommodation 28 June - 12 July.
