Cabanas has a wide range of traditional restaurants open all year round. On the ground floor of apartment block is a coffee shop/cafe, serving home cooked food, etc. On the adjacent block a bistro has recently opened. The fantastic Cabanas beach is reached by a 2 minute boat ride, across the lagoon. The nearest golf course, Benamor is 5 mins drive away and others within 15 minutes. Well serviced by regular bus and train services for those not wanting to hire a car. Spain is an excellent day out by train and ferry boat from Vila Real or a 30 minute car journey.

Notes on accommodation
Air conditioning in living and bedrooms. A travel cot, travel baby bath and chair are available for guest use. The balcony is large and seats 4 people comfortably and is equipped with table, 4 chairs and parasol.
Outside
There is a choice of 4 shared pools (approx. 18m x 8m) all set in well maintained gardens. A well equipped children's play area has now been completed.
Coast/Beach
A 5 minute stroll, will bring you to the seafront and lagoon, full of small fishing and sailing boats. A ferry boat across the lagoon (1 euro) return will take you over to the wonderful huge stretch of beach, were even in mid season you can find a spot of your own. Other beaches and islands are all within a short car or bus journey. A 10 mins trip will take you to the beautiful town of Tavira, considered by many to be the jewel of the Algarve.
Golf
Golf courses abound along the Algarve and there are 4 top quality courses all with 25 mins drive.
Benamor a par 71 is less than 5 mins away.
Quinta da Cima, a par 72, 10 mins away
Qunita da Ria, another par 72, 10 mins away.
Castro Marim, also par 72, 25 mins away.
Travel
Cabanas is approx. an easy 45 minute drive from Faro airport or taxi transfers are available. The Spanish border is about 25 minute drive away. Another hour's drive to the exciting city of Seville or 2 hours to the sherry capital of Jerez.
Distances
The coastal motorway, allows fast access to the whole of the Algarve and in to Spain, as does the coastal railway, which is very reasonably priced (station in Cabanas).
Further details
The area is ideal for those enjoying walking, cycling, flora and fauna, birdwatching, fishing and more leisurely activities such as painting.
Access to the completed section of the Algarvian cycleway is only a few minutes away from the apartment.
There are local supermarkets within walking distance, a bakery, 2 local butchers, and a fresh fish and produce market on the sea front. There are also some lovely gift shops. There aren't any McDonalds or similar, but there is a takeaway, selling freshly prepared dishes and many local cafes and restaurants.

25% deposit reguired at time of booking, with full payment 6 weeks before arrival. Deposits are non-refundable, travel insurance recommended. Payment by cheque.
