This apartment is located in the beautiful town of Lagos in the Western Algarve. The sophisticated and cosmopolitan marina is a magnet for visitors with its colourful waterfront boasting excellent restaurants, lively bars and stylish shops. From the marina it is easy to reach the beach on foot. Alternatively a 5 minute walk across the marina footbridge will bring you to Lagos town itself. On the narrow, cobbled streets you will find many cafes and restaurants catering for all tastes. With its relaxed atmosphere and quiet charm Lagos is one of the most appealing locations on the Algarve. Once the sun goes down the old town comes alive. You will find open-air stalls, street entertainers and artists displaying their work. Lively bars, jazz clubs and nightclubs stay open until late. There are also open air concerts, art exhibitions and a good cinema. With the beach, bars, restaurants and supermarket all within easy walking distance you don't necessarily have to hire a car.

Outside
There is a large communal pool within approx 10m and a children's splash pool surrounded by mature planting and lawned area. Sunbeds and sun umbrellas are provided. Free car parking is available to the rear of the apartment block. There is a children's play area with paddling boats and bumper cars within a 3 minute walk. Car parking is available behind the apartment block.
Coast/Beach
Lagos boasts one of the finest beaches in the Western Algarve. Meia Praia is a short walk from the apartment. This beautiful white sandy beach stretches for 4 miles. There are several beach bars and restaurants to choose from all serving snacks, drinks or delicious meals for lunch or dinner. There are many fabulous beaches and picturesque coves on the Algarve to choose from - if you have a car you'll be spoilt for choice!
Golf
There are several well known golf courses within a short drive of lagos; Palmeras being the closest. Boa Vista and Parque de Floresta are 15 minutes drive to the West and Penina and Alto 30 minutes to the East of Lagos.
Travel
Faro Airport is a 50 minute drive from Lagos. Lisbon Airport is approximately 2 hours.
Distances
The nearest town is of course Lagos. Serra de Monchique is just a 40 minute drive away. Take a drive up into the Monchique mountains and enjoy a meal whilst admiring the breathtaking views.
Further details
There are many shops, banks and restaurants in Lagos town. The nearest supermarket is a 3 minute walk from the apartment and is very well stocked. Fresh bread and Croissants are available daily. There is a newsagent selling English newspapers and magazines and there is also a florist and dry cleaners.
On the Marina there is a number of places to book boat trips, deep-sea fishing and tours of the grottoes that lie beneath the Ponte de Piedade. You can also explore and take one of the "must see" Dolphin trips. If you wish to charter a boat for the morning or a whole day and explore by sea then this can also be booked via the Marina. There is also a very successful PADI diving centre if you wish to explore the seabed and they also run beginner's courses.
If you would like to shop then as well as the town you could visit Guia Shopping centre which is a 45 minute drive. Here you will find many shops for men, women and children. There is also an open-plan eating area with many different types of restaurants, along with a cinema and bowling.
There is also a couple of excellent water parks 40 minutes drive away, or there is a daily bus service 5 minutes from walk from the apartment, taking you to the park and bringing you home at the end of the day. Zoo Marine is a poplular day out for all the family. It is an entertaining and educational oceanographic facility with all kinds of amusement, bars, restaurants, shops and swimming pool. You can also book to swim with the dolphins!
