Situated at the rear on the 2nd floor with two balconies: south and east facing. The fully fitted kitchen means that if you want to stay in you can, or just wander down to the town to enjoy one of the many excellent restaurants. The spacious and airy lounge has sea and park views. Salema village is very special. Friendly bars and restaurants provide a relaxing evening atmosphere. In the day the long sandy beach is the ideal place to relax or play: you’ll always find your own space even in the height of summer. The apartment is ideally placed to get to know the Western Algarve: 15-20 mins from Sagres or Lagos (a must to visit - the most beautiful town) close to the largely undiscovered beaches of the west (Cornwall with sun!) 5 mins from one of the best golf courses in Europe (Parque De Floresta). The national park hides beaches that belong in the past - deserted, clean and with white sands and aquamarine sea. A drive into the Monchiques won’t take long and the view is worth it!

Bathrooms: Large bathroom with bath, shower over bath, bidet, wc and sink. Separate new shower room with ample corner shower, sink, vanity unit and wc.
Kitchen: The large kitchen is well equipped with gas hob, electric oven, washing machine, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, juicer, fridge/freezer. An iron and ironing board is also available. Access from the kitchen to the balcony with dining facilities.
Living Rooms: Huge, sunny lounge/diner opening onto the south facing balcony. 2 leather sofas, bookcases,coffee tale. LCD 32" TV with satellite (BBC & ITV) DVD player. Dining table for 4. Fire and convector heater available. Books and DVDs provided.
Other: Large entrance lobby with lighting and space for jackets etc.. Inner hall.

Accessibility
Unfortunately not suitable for anyone with mobility problems as it is on the second floor with no lift.

Outside
Two balconies: east facing smaller balcony with sea views, overlooking gardens; large south facing balcony [glazed in one corner] well furnished with sunbeds and wooden table/chairs. Huge car park. Communal gardens.

Coast/Beach
10 minutes walk [2 minutes in the car ] to Salema beach with beds, toilets, showers and water sports [life guard on duty] 20 minute walk through the national park to several secluded [and often deserted] beaches. A wide variety of beaches all within driving distance, including the west coach beaches for surfing. Lagos port and harbour 20 minutes by car. Dolphin watching, fishing and other boat tours in Lagos and closer. Beautiful walks along the cliffs.

Golf
Parque De Floresta golf course 5 minutes drive.

Travel
Faro is one hour away and linked by an excellent motorway. There is a train service to Lagos and bus service to Salema. However a hire car is really essential to make the most of this fabulous area.We can help with recommended firms.

Distances
40 minutes to the beautiful Mountains of Monchique.
20 minutes to the most westerly point in Europe – Cape St Vincent with its museum, fort and lighthouse.
20 minutes drive to Lagos for shopping and culture
20 minutes west to the beaches and entertainment in Sagres.
30 minutes to the surfing at Vila de Bispo beach.
10 minutes to horse riding
Shopping-25 minutes to Portimao and 35 minutes to Guia
30 minutes to the water park at Lagoa.

Further details
Ecomarche supermarket 5 minutes by car open every day of the year. Smaller supermarkets [3] in Salema. Cash points in the Ecomarche or next to the beach. Retail parks at Guia and Portimao. Take away pizza 5 minutes walk away.
Watersports in Salema, Burgau and Sagres.
Many bars and restaurants offer excellent eating at a very reasonable price. Fish a speciality. Try the bars that the locals use for excellent service and value.
