Quinta do Scoto

The Adega Suite is adjacent to the main house and has two bedrooms (1 with double bed and double sofa bed, 1 with twin beds) with sitting area & dressing room. The bathroom has a bath & separate shower in a converted wine press, with wc, bidet & washbasin in a courtyard theme. The Sr. Meira Suite is in the main house and has a bedroom with double bed & single bed, sitting room with double sofa bed & en suite bathroom. In a separate converted barn, we have 6 suites all with large en suite bathrooms: Sr Miguel, Dona Maria & Count Redondo Suites - 2 double beds & double sofa bed Dove Cote & Marquis de Pombal Suites - 2 double beds in bedroom & double sofa bed in separate sitting room Dom Fernando Suite - 2 twin beds & double sofa bed Sr Miguel, Dona Maria & Marquis de Pombal Suites are on the ground floor with access directly onto the pool and sun terrace. Dove Cote, Count Redondo & Dom Fernando Suites are on the first floor with views over the pool and gardens.

Notes on accommodation
Dona Maria & Marquis de Pombal Suites and Count Redondo & Dom Fernando Suites have adjoining doors for families to share.
Each suite has a mini-bar which is stocked on your arrival with complimentary beer and soft drinks. A bottle of wine is also provided to settle the dust after your journey. A coffee machine is available in each suite and a mini safe. We also provide a laptop which guests can use to connect to the Internet and to use Skype to make either free calls to another Skype user or to communicate with home through Skype at a very nominal cost compared to a normal telephone.
The Entrada (where breakfast is served) and a large guest lounge are available for guests to relax, watch DVDs, read and play games. The lounge has a large billiard table for guests to use.
All rooms are fully serviced daily with sheets and towels replaced mid week or sooner should guests require. Beach towels are also provided.
All suites have central heating & ceiling fans and are air conditioned.

Accessibility
Our Adega suite and Suites Sr Miguel, Dona Maria & Marquis de Pombal Suites are located on the ground floor so are suitable for people who cannot manage stairs.
Sr Miguel Suite has been specially designed for wheelchair users, including wide doorways, large bathroom with hand rails and large shower with removable seat.

Outside
The Quinta is set in 7 acres (30,000 square metres) of rural grounds with interesting historic features that guests are free to enjoy. There is a large swimming pool (6 x 12 metres) available for guests to use, surrounded by sun terraces with sun loungers.
The pool is within a fenced area to make it safe for young children. Adjacent to the pool is a barbecue area with tables and chairs and a covered stone seating area.
There is a fully enclosed patio adjacent to the house, with direct access from the Adega Suite but available for other guests to use as well, with tables and chairs, barbecue and sunloungers.

Coast/Beach
A vast selection of beaches can be found within a 1/2 hour drive, including Guincho, Cascais and Carcavelos. Some beaches can also be accessed either by bus or by taking the train to Sintra and then the tram to the coast.

Golf
Belas Clube de Campo is located 5km from the Quinta.
Beloura Pestana Golf Resort is 10km away, as is Penha Longa Golf Resort.
There is also a significant number of other golf courses within 30 minutes drive.

Travel
Lisbon airport is 15km away. Car hire is recommended but not essential.

Distances
Lisbon is 15km and Sintra is 10km away and both can be reached either by car or by train from the local railway station. Cascais and Estoril are a 30 minute drive. The Quinta is located in Melecas which is a rural village with cafes and restaurants, and is close to other villages and small towns with many facilities.

Booking notes
Since we don't have credit card facilities as yet, payment is by cash only. 50% payable on arrival, the balance on departure.
