This lovely, spacious and well equipped apartment sleeps 4/5. A large private roof terrace overlooks the beautiful old town of Tavira and the Ria Formosa national park. The vast golden sand beach of Tavira Island, with restaurants, and excellent facilities is a pleasant 20 minute ferry ride from the centre of the town. A short walk away to the historic city centre of Tavira with some of the most beautiful churches in the Algarve, to the traditional fish and vegetable market.

Long term winter rates applies to rentals of 3 weeks minimum between November and March, excluding Christmas and New Years weeks.

Changeover day
Flexible changeover day, but we would prefer thursdays and saturdays, specially during high season. Check-in from 3pm.
Check-out at 10am.

Notes on accommodation
All windows are double glazed with shutters. The air conditioning unit also doubles as an heater for the winter. Floor tiles throughout the apartment. This is a No Smoking apartment. If you smoke, please do it so on the outside areas or you might have to pay for cleaning/ lost of income.

South facing 25 sq.m. rooftop terrace ideal for all day sunbathing and barbeques with delightful views towards the sea, mountain and over Tavira old town, equipped with wood garden tables and chairs, umbrella and gas barbecue.
Coast/Beach
There is easy access from Tavira by ferry to the miles of sandy and safe beaches on Tavira Island. Santa Luzia village 5 minutes drive from Tavira has a beautiful beach called Barril which is situated in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve and is easily reached by a small train from Pedras Del Rei. Other nearby beaches include Manta Rota, Fuzeta and Monte Gordo. Golden sandy beaches.
Golf
The apartment is situated near to 3 excellent golf courses within a 4-8km distance: Benamor 18 holes, Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima 18 holes each in a superb location.
Travel
Tavira is about 35kms from Faro airport and there is an excellent taxi, train or bus service. There are comfortable and reliable train and bus services to most points in the Algarve. Car hire is therefore, not essential.
Distances
Tavira town centre is within easy walking distance. The Spanish border is a 20km drive away, passing the hilltop village of Castro Marim with its well preserved Castle and 17th Century Fort. Faro is half an hour's drive away, has a large hypermarket 12 screen cinema and shopping complex. The historic city of Seville is 2 hours by car.
Further details
Tavira is an attractive and historic town where River Gilao runs through the centre of the town and is spanned by four bridges including the historic Roman bridge. There are a number of attractive churches, and you can climb up to the remains of the castle and view the town from the its ancient walls, 18th century buildings and a local market. The local fishing boats still supply the town's restaurants and the harbour provides an interesting backdrop to the town.
Tavira has a traditional Portuguese atmosphere and offers a wide range of restaurants, including excellent sea food, bars and shops. The Ria Formosa Natural Park is a haven for over 30,000 migratory birds and has an interesting self guided nature trail.
Booking notes
A minimum deposit of 25% (refundable until 8 weeks before arrival) is payable upon booking with the balance due 4 weeks before arrival.
A refundable guarantee/damage deposit of £150 to be paid before arrival. Refunded on return of the keys and confirmation the apartment is good order. The apartment is cleaned prior to your arrival but please notify us of any problems asap. Payment is welcome by cash, cheque or bank transfer. With a cheque time should be allowed for cheques to clear.

Just a quick note to say thank you, your apartment was absolutely delightful, with everything we could require for our holiday, which we enjoyed immensely. Tavira was a wonderful place full of nice little bars and restaurants, thankfully still with its own character and not over commercialised, the beach was itself wonderful and a restful holiday was had by both Helen and myself.
