Casa da Goivaria is a traditional village cottage which has been restored to make surprisingly spacious interior. The bedrooms are on the ground floor and the whole first floor is a large living room opening onto a small terrace with lovely views across the valley to the hills and sea beyond. Eugaria is a small cobbled village with a mixture of old and restored houses with town of Colares about 1.5 kms away. A car is essential and the cottage has a small parking space. It is a perfect base for exploring the area with a mixture of beaches, gardens, historic castles and palaces with Lisbon, Cascais and Estoril within easy reach. There are several excellent golf courses nearby. The cottage is opposite the owner's sister and she allows tenants to use her lovely swimming pool by arrangement.

Outside
There are two small terraces with outdoor furniture. The owner's family live over the road and allow tenants to use their large swimming pool in the private garden by arrangment.
Coast/Beach
The beaches of Praia Grande, Praia das Macas and Praia d'Adraga are all within 10 to 15 minutes drive.
Golf
There are several excellent golf courses including Penha Longha, Estoril and Quinta da Marinho within 25 minutes drive.
Travel
Lisbon airport is 25 km away and a car is essential.
Distances
Colares is about 1.5 kms away, Sintra 5 kms and Cascais and Estoril 15 kms.
Booking notes
A £100 or 150 euro deposit is required to confirm the booking and the remainder of the rent a month before travel.
Guest comments
We had a good time with a nice balance between countryside, history, seaside and city. We spent three days with Praia Grande beach to ourselves watching surfers.

We were really quite surprised how large the cottage was when we got there as the photos make it look quite small. The view from the patio across the valley - that was an amazing view. You should mention that Colares has some really good restaurants and there is a tram line up to Sintra for a couple of euros.
