Accessibility
House is all on one level, out onto the patio and pool area, so is good for wheelchair access.
Outside
Lounge has good flow from lounge to outdoor entertainment and pool area, with BBQ, and outside eight seater table. Beautiful trees in garden, and garden and pool service weekly.
Coast/Beach
11km to Armacao de Pera, which is a 10 minute drive, as well as 15 minutes to Gale, Praia Grande and Carvoeria beaches. 25 minutes to many other great beaches including Portimao and Lagos. Most beaches offer restaurants and water activities, and are safe for kids swimming. The wild west coast is famous for its long beaches and great surfing conditions.
Golf
The brand new Amendoeira golf course with 2 x 18 hole courses, designed by Nick Faldo and Christy o'Connor has just opened. This is just down the road from us, and by car to the main entrance is a 7 minute drive. This has a stunning clubhouse with a restaurant and terrace bar.
Travel
Fly into Faro (40 min drive), or Lisbon (two hours drive, but better international connections).
Distances
Silves 7 km, Algoz 4km, Armacao de Pera 11km.
Further details
Algarve shopping mall 15 minutes drive. 2 waterparks nearby. Seville in Spain, two hour door to door drive - great theme park for the kids.

About the owner
We are a family of four, Mum and Dad, with Kia (12) and Joshua (8), and a large extended family, which includes many friends. We have enjoyed so many holidays in our villa over the past 10 years, so many treasured memories, on our own, and with others. It is a special, personal space, which is simple, light and clean, as well as functional. We live in Cape Town, so it is ideal for us to visit during our winter. We used to be able to spend 3 months or so there, but with the kids being older, we can only get away for 3 weeks now, so we decided to share our home with like-minded families. We have had many happy guests, who have returned again, so they must have enjoyed their stay! Our house is your house, as they say!

Why the owner chose a home in this location
It is such a peaceful and tranqil area, in the hills amongst the orange groves, and yet it is a short drive to many different beaches. We find that it is great to go to the various beaches for the morning and then lunch there, and head back to the pool deck for the afternoon. We tend to barbecue most evenings and chill around the house. It is in the Central Algarve, so therefore easy to access the West Coast areas, as well as no being too far from the airport. It takes about 12 minutes to the major shopping centre, Algarve shopping, which is so convenient. It has great shops, a huge supermarket as well as a bowling alley and cinemas. Our kids love the waterparks close by. It takes 2 hours to drive to Seville, which is a great experience, really worthwhile.
Unique benefits of the property
We are not overlooked by any neighbours, so the area is really private with no noise at all as there is only a small access dust road, so no passing traffic. The house has a fantastic flow from the living area to the pools, so you are always kind of "part of the family". There is a second terrace with a beautiful tree to sit under, where you can get away from the family, which can be necessary!! The kitchen is well equipped and easy to work in with a big oven/stove, and two fridges. The house stays cool in the summer heat, and warm in winter as it has thick walls and excellent insulation.
