45 mins drive to the seaside resort of Figuera da Foz, noted for its excellent seafood and artistic community. Many small unspoilt beaches within an hour's drive.

1.5 hrs to Porto airport and 2 hrs from Lisbon. Car hire essential.

120km to Porto. 190km to Lisbon. 30km to Coimbra. 60km to Tomar. 2km to the heritage village of Penela.
Further details
A range of delicious Portuguese fare is widely available. We recommend grilled fish and shell fish in Figuera, and the Chanfana in Miranda is remembered fondly by all visitors. Leitao (suckling pig) in Coimbra and more. If you are feeling energetic a walk up (or partly up!) local peak Monte Vez is a must. Or a swim in the mountain pools on the other side of the valley.
