The cottage is in a rural farm setting. Ideal for walkers and lovers of nature. Away from the hustle and bustle. Simple country life. Art lessons on request, owner is an artist and hosts one week art classes on request.

One can meander amongst the olive fields or walk the country lanes. 15 min walk to the village. Catch up on your reading. Open a bottle of excellent Alentejo wine and watch the beautiful sunset. Accessibility
This property is absolutely wheelchair friendly. There are no steps. 2km from the village off tarmac onto good dirt road. The property is all flat. Easy access. Car port for car.
Outside
An outside patio with table and 4 chairs and umbrella. Barbecue. Sun umbrellas and recliners around the pool. Bring your sun tan cream and hats and poolside towels. Bathroom towels provided.
Coast/Beach
"Rose Cottage" is approx. 1 hour from the Alentejo west coast beaches. 2 hour's from Algarve beaches. Odivelas dam for water skiing half hour drive. Alqueva dam 60 mins away. The Alqueva dam offers boat trips twice daily. Its the largest man made dam in Europe.
Golf
The nearest golf courses are in the Algarve, 2 hours drive.

Travel
90 mins car journey from Lisbon International airport. 50 mins from Beja. Easy access by train to/from Lisbon, Beja, Evora and the Algarve. A car is recommended for this property.
Archeological sites, pottery factory to visit. Churches, castles. Alentejo is rich in culture and traditions. situated on the Alentejo wine route. 2008 Portuguese wines won the International award. Country life at its best.
Distances
15 mins walk to the local village, excellent traditional restaurants and cafes good provincial food, order take away. 6km to Viana do Alentejo,and supermarket. 25 mins drive to the Unesco Town of Evora (Roman ruins/temple of Diana). There is also a daily train to and fro to Evora and Beja and twice a day to Lisbon.

'Rose Cottage' is situated between 3 villages. Alvito/Viana do Alentejo and Vila Nova da Baronia. Historical churches. Local annual festivities. (November only olive picking) On the Alentejo wine route, with some superb Alentejo Adegas in the region, where one is able to sample the excellent award winning wines of Alentejano. In the village - tennis courts (raquets and balls arranged on request) no charge. internet in the village. Post office/phones.
