If you are looking for a peaceful 'get away from it all' holiday or short break, then our 'home from home' is for you. The villa was completed in January 2007, newly furnished and is ideally located to cater for days at the beach, poolside, exploring the local Portuguese towns or rugged coastline.

Notes on prices
NB: The Christmas and New Year will be subject to an additional charge due to peak period.
Winter lets for more than four weeks will be at a discounted price between October and March.
Long weekends and part week breaks can be arranged.

Changeover day
Flexible according to your needs, but would ask that on same day arrival/departures that guests leaving, vacate by 10am to enable cleaning/servicing for guests arriving same day.

Bathrooms: En-Suite bathroom to Bedroom 1 with corner bath/shower, wc, basin with vanity unit, bidet and linen basket.
Second bathroom next to bedroom 3, shower, wc, and basin with vanity unit.
Kitchen: Fully fitted kitchen complete with large fridge/freezer, oven, hob, microwave, fitted dishwasher, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, dishes and all cooking utensils. Window overlooking Olive, Cork and Eualyptus trees, flowers and greenery.
Utility Room: Washing machine, sun loungers, mountain bikes, table and chairs.
Living Rooms: Lounge with sofas, wood burning feature fireplace, coffee table, TV, DVD, stereo surround sound system, radio, CD player and Sky satellite system. Selection of DVD movies, CDs, books and games. Dining table and six chairs, french doors providing views.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels and linen provided & changed weekly (not including beach towels). Cleaning provided. Swimming pool cleaned and monitored twice weekly through the summer period and once a week in the winter. There is an outside washing line and clothes airer.

 

Notes on accommodation
There is an air-conditoning/heating unit in the master bedroom,a fire in the lounge and a mobile radiator. The villa remains fairly cool without fans in the summer, with windows open, as there is normally a breeze in Vale Da Telha. The area is enclosed by walls, fencing and lockable gates, parents would be advised to ensure children are supervised in order not to have accidents and have safety aids if unable to swim.
Meet and greet services, airport transfers, mid stay cleaning and laundry services are available at additional costs.

Accessibility
The property has wide steps down to the property with a fitted handrail, also outside lights, however it would be unsuitable for wheelchair users, or people who have difficulty with mobility or are partially sighted, due to access. Inside there are some steps as the property is on a split level. Although we welcome young guests, unfortunately the villa is unsuitable for children under 5 years of age.

Outside
A large private swimming pool 8 by 4 metres which has a shallow and deep end, lighting, and a poolside shower with a surrounding paved patio area. Ideal to enjoy the valley views when enjoying the sun on the sunloungers provided, or for dining outside on the outside furniture. There is a purpose built barbecue, a carport/sundeck and ample parking spaces. The villa is surrounded by garden area on all four sides, some of which is landscaped for sitting outside wherever you choose for sun or shade, there are trees, shrubs and plants in the garden which is on different levels and has wonderful countryside, flora and fauna. Many different types of birds can be seen from the garden, which is surrounded by Cork, Olive, Pine and Eucalyptus trees. There are pretty pots planted with succulants and shingled areas. The surrounding roads are infrequently used by vehicles and provide excellent walking and cycling routes. There is a lagoon which can be seen by taking a 3 minute walk along the road.

Coast/Beach
Beaches - drive to Monte Clerigo is 10 minutes on a quiet road, for 8km.
Arrifana is 8 minutes away. There are many more beautiful beaches which are only a short drive away, we suggest you take one of the maps for your use in the villa, and drive along the coast to discover some great spots.

Golf
There are some splendid golf courses within 40 minutes drive, such as Parque da Florista, Palmares, Boavista, Margado, Alamos and Penina. Palmares is the nearest and is situated near Lagos, about 40-45 minutes from the villa.

Travel
Faro airport is approximately 1 hour 20 minutes drive away (connected directly to the A22, then EN 120 to Aljezur and Vale da Telha).

Distances
There is a local supermarket which has very friendly staff who are used to doing sign language with visitors who have not mastered the Portuguese language! It stocks almost everything you could need, this is 5 minutes in a car or a bike ride away. There are several good restaurants in the area and at the beaches, a short drive away. The nearest town is Aljezur (8km - 10 mins drive), which has supermarkets, banks, petrol station,post office, pharmacy, Saturday market, cafes and restaurants.

Further details
Vale da Telha is a beautiful area which offers the best of both worlds with its clean beaches with white sand and dramatic cliffs, the clean air, dramatic views of the Monchique Mountains, a large lagoon, and the culture of the Portuguese way of life. Aljezur town has a church and square with surrounding street cafes, small shops, some excellent restaurants who provide fresh fish and produce dishes, local wine all at very reasonable prices. The market where fresh fish, fruit, vegetables, nuts, meat and honey can be bought is an experience that is typical of the local produce of Aljezur.
Leisure facilities and activities are available in the area such as horse riding, surfing, surf schools, swimming, tennis courts, birdwatching, fishing, golf and a local masseur. Lagos (28kms) must not be missed, it is about 25 mins drive away; a picturesque town with cobbled streets, a castle, fort, large marina, promenade and square. The Old Slave Market now holds Art Exhibitions open right through the evening, also an indoor craft market opposite has local traders who sell there wares. Along the main route are an array of cafes, bars, restaurants, all types of different shops, a fresh fish market, street entertainers and dining of many nationalities. Visit many of the quaint villages, the castle in Silves, the many more unspoilt beaches along the coastline such as Salema, Budens and Cape St Vincent. Praia da Luz is a lovely coastal town just 25 mins drive away with its wonderful beach, promenade, restaurants, cafes and shops.
If you prefer the hustle and bustle you will find this in the summer months when the weather is very warm and the area has a real cosmopolitan feel, beaches are busy and nightlife varied. The shops in Lagos stay open until 10-11.00pm, so plenty of time to find the items you wish to take home! Children are welcomed in restaurants. During the off peak periods the climate is mild. the beaches are quiet, where you can enjoy the clean, clear sea and air.

Reservations should be confirmed by e-mail or in writing along with a 20% deposit with booking. The balance should be paid 6 weeks prior to stay. A returnable deposit for breakages may be required.
