This tastefully decorated ground floor apartment has its own enclosed terrace and garden. It is situated centrally in the Vilar do Golf resort, just a short stroll from the main resort amenities, including the restaurant, bar and pools. The resort itself is surrounded by the famous Quinta do Lago golf courses, home to the Portuguese Open. The famous Bobby Jones restaurant and bar on site enjoys magnificent fairway views. However, it's not just a resort for golf lovers as the complex is situated in the premier part of the Algarve, a region steeped in tradition and history. There are magnificent golden beaches as well as a Natural Park and a wonderful lake used for watersports.You can learn to windsurf, hire a canoe or have fun on a pedalo. Close by are many smart restaurants, bars and shops.

Euro rates to be agreed at Barclays Bank exchange rate at time of booking. Outside high and peak season, nightly rates also available. Special rates also available for Christmas/New Year and Easter breaks.
Changeover day
Changeover day is normally Saturday for stays of one week or longer but alternative changeover days may be available on request.Shorter stays of less than a week are also possible, as are long weeknd stays.

Notes on accommodation
Heating and air-conditioning. Perfect for children, with cots/high chairs available on request. The complex is suitable for people of all ages and has excellent facilities. Being on the ground floor, and with its own garden, this apartment is one of the most sought after on site.
Accessibility
The apartment is on the ground floor and is very close to the amenities of the resort making it ideal for those concerned with mobility.
Outside
The apartment itself enjoys a lovely terrace, which can be fully opened or closed with the remote control, electronic shutter. The private garden is an excellent place to sunbathe on the two sun loungers provided. The Vilar do Golf complex enjoys 4 pools (including one superb main pool, a children's pool, sports pool and incredibly warm indoor pool!). There is a gym and sauna,jacuzzi, masseur centre, supermarket, cafe, poolside bar, games area, children's club (in high season), bike hire and 24 hour reception/security. At the entrance to Vilar Do Golf is Jim Stewart's Tennis Club.You can book a court (fee 10 euros per hour, summer 2007) at reception.The fantastic Bobby Jones restaurant and bar at the centre of the complex is a fabulous place to dine and relax. There are wonderful beaches close by which you can jog to, park at free of charge whilst staying at Vilar do Golf, or hop on the free shuttle bus from reception (during high seasons).
Coast/Beach
Close to the complex are the beautiful golden beaches of the Atlantic ocean providing a wonderful setting to enjoy the sun, sea and sand. There is a lovely beach restaurant/bar, open throughout the summer months, as well as mobile vendors selling ice cream and snacks.
Golf
This is golfers' paradise. The complex is situated on the Quinta do Lago championship golf courses. Quinta do Lago South (designed by William Mitchell) and Quinta do Lago North (designed by William Mitchell and Rocky Roquemore) are both 18 hole, par 72 and each over 6,000 metres in length. There are special green fee rates and guaranteed start times on the Quinta do Lago and Ria Formosa courses, and Vilar do Golf residents are able to enjoy an excellent practice range. Quinta do Lago has been the venue for many international tournaments including several Portuguese Opens.
Travel
The nearest airport is Faro, approximately 20-30 mins drive. We can recommend a very good, reasonably priced local car hire firm which we and our friends regularly use.
Distances
Within a 5-10 minute drive is a further, wonderful selection of restaurants catering for all tastes.There are great places to eat along the road at Julia's Beach and Val Do Lobo. The Quinta shopping centre contains many restaurants as well as designer shops, supermarket and a bank.
Further details
We purchased this apartment from our friends having originally stayed as their guests on holiday. We loved the apartment and location so much that we bought it for ourselves and are happy to rent it to others when we are not visiting Portugal.
Booking notes
A deposit of 20% (non refundable) is payable at the time of booking. The remaining 80% is payable eight weeks prior to departure. Bookings made within eight weeks of departure are payable in full at the time of booking. 150 Euros (or sterling equivalent) is payable in lieu of breakages/damage and will be returned, in full, provided no breakages/damage occur.
