Casa da Luz is a luxuriously furnished private villa with accommodation for up to 8 people on the Praia D'el Rey resort near Obidos on the Silver Coast. The resort offers great family attractions with leisure activities including a tennis academy with 7 courts, football pitch and a children’s playground. Clube Adventura outdoor activity centre offers paintballing, quad biking, surfing and archery for older children. The 5* Marriott Hotel and Spa offers an alternative for the older members of the family. Surfing and bodyboarding can be found in Baleal, a 15 min drive away with it beachside restaurants and bars. Other places of interest locally are Peniche, an old fishing town and the Lagoa de Obidos with its shallow waters. If you need food there is a small shop within 5 mins walk of the villa with larger supermarkets a short drive away. The medieval town of Óbidos has dozens of restaurants, bars and cafes, for the perfect lunch on a sunny day try the town of Foz do Arelho.

Outside
Large built in BBQ, large covered terrace for eating out with hardwood table and 8 chairs with cushions. Terraces outside each bedroom, 2 with table and chairs. There are 4 sun lounger chairs for those lazy moments around the pool. 2 further grass areas enable you to enjoy all parts of the garden and provide plenty of peaceful outdoor space for everyone.
Coast/Beach
The magnificent 2.5 km long beach bordering the golf course
is situated 15 minutes walk from the villa. Always beautiful and often deserted, the walks along the beach or the cliffs are an experience not to be missed.
Golf
Casa da Luz is 10 mins walk from 18 hole par 72 links course. The Praia Del Rey links course was designed by American architect Cabell B. Robinson, listed as Portugal's best course in the 2002/2003 Peugeot Golf Guide and rated 13th Best Continental Europe golf course by Golf World magazine. The course is set in extensive grounds of pine forest and undulating dunes with spectacular views over the Atlantic. Quinta do Brinçal is only a 40-minute drive from Praia D'el Rey to the Par 72 Golden Eagle course in Rio Maior. Rich in potential, the enjoyment for all handicappers here is matched by the warm welcome.
The princely Penha Longa Atlantico, venue for the Portuguese Open in the 90s, oozes charm and character. Here is a thoroughbred track, designed by Robert Trent Jones, to provide a searching examination of skills. 9 beautifully crafted holes nestle in a wooded valley; 9 more on an exposed outcrop overlooking the Atlantic.
