Cabanas is a picturesque fishing village. The apartment is located only two minutes from the village centre and waterfront, yet offers a peaceful and quiet base for your stay. Cabanas has a wide range of restaurants, cafes and bars offering traditional Portuguese cuisine and wines. The beach, reached by a two-minute boat ride, boasts 3km of golden sands and stunning views of the clear blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. A visit to the beach is a must! The boat trip costs one euro per person return and runs throughout the day. The beach has its own café /bar changing facilities, and toilets. Parasol, sun bed, Jet Ski and paddleboat hire are available. There is a Cafe/Bar a Restaurant and a childrens play area within the complex. For the golfer there are 4 courses within driving distance, the nearest Benamor only 5 minutes away and the 2 championship courses, Quinta Da Cima & Quinta Da Ria within 15 minutes. A regular train service provides access to the rest of the Algarve and Spain.

Coast/Beach
The apartment is a short stroll from the waterfront. A two minute boat ride takes you across the river to the beach. Boats cost 1 euro and run throughout the day. The beach has its own cafe bar, parasols, sunbeds, jet ski and paddle boat hire.
Golf
Being a keen golfer I have played 4 of the local courses. Benamor, Quinta Da Cima, Quinta Da Ria and Castro Marim. All 4 offer different challenges and all are what I would call fair to the golfer.
Courses are bookable locally, discounted fees are available for Castro Marim, let me know when booking.
Travel
The nearest airport is Faro, which is a 35 minute drive away.
A taxi costs about 50 euros from the airport to Cabanas. The drive is simple and we can provide easy to follow directions.
Distances
Tavira is the nearest town and is approximately 5 kms to the west.
Monte Gordo is the nearest town to the east and the border with Spain is only about 20 minutes drive.
Further details
There are many good restuarants in the village which are very reasonably priced. There are two supermrkets and a small market daily which sells local produce. There are 3 ATMs

30% deposit required at time of booking with full payment to be made 8 weeks prior to arrival date. Payment should be made by personal cheque.
