The Quinta de Sao Cucufate is a delightful country house situated on two hectares, surrounded by its own almond orchard, olive grove and gardens. The house looks out through a colonnaded patio swathed in bougainvillea to the swimming pool, and the sea beyond, with dramatic views eastward to the cliffs and lighthouse of the Ponta da Piedade. Lawns and towering palms surround the pool and nearby pergolas can be used for alfresco dining. Inside, the rooms are spacious and airy with high ceilings. Bathrooms and kitchen are decorated with Portuguese azelujos tile and marble. The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances, including dishwasher and there is a separate pantry/laundry room. The bedrooms are furnished with comfortable mattresses. The whole house and garden is handicap-accessible. The beautiful sandy beach of Porto de Mos with its restaurants is 10 minutes by car or by foot. Also within 15 minutes drive are the towns of Lagos, Praia da Luz and Boavista golf course.

Other: Dining area for 8 people adjoins living room, with view onto patio, pool and sea.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Bed linen and towels (bath and beach) are provided and are changed once a week or more often if requested. Cleaning is once a week or as requested.

There are remote-controlled ceiling fans in most rooms, except bedrooms 3 and 4 where there are table fans.

Accessibility
The whole house, patio and most of the garden is on one level so would be very convenient for wheelchair use. The pool area is surround by calcadas - Portuguese paving. Young children would need to be closely supervised in the pool area as it is unfenced.

The Quinta de Sao Cucufate is a delightful country house situated on two hectares, surrounded by its own almond orchard, olive grove and gardens. The house looks out through a colonnaded patio swathed in bougainvillea to the swimming pool, and the sea just 300m away, with dramatic views eastward to the cliffs and lighthouse of the Ponta da Piedade. The patio has bench and armchair seating, reclining deck chairs, dining table with umbrella and wheeled barbecue. The pool (9m x 5m) is private and surrounded by Portuguese paving stones and flanked by two lawns. Nearby are two vine-covered pergolas that could be used for outdoor sitting and alfresco dining. To the side of the house is another, lower lawn surrounded with flowering shrubs and trees making a peaceful refuge away from the pool.

Coast/Beach
The beautiful sandy beach of Porto de Mos with its restaurants is 10 mins away by foot via a path along the cliff, or about 10 mins by car. Other beaches (e.g. Meia Praia, Praia da Luz) are within 20 min drive. A dramatic coastal walk to Praia da Luz can be taken by stepping out of the house towards the sea.

Golf
Boavista golf course is the nearest, about a 10 min drive.

Travel
Faro is the nearest airport - 70 km or about 1 hour drive via motorway.

Distances
Lagos is 3 km to the east; Praia da Luz 5 km to the west.

Further details
Lagos has at least 4 supermarkets. There are produce and fish markets and other shops, banks and a host of restaurants in its picturesque center and in the marina area.

Booking notes
A deposit of 10% of the total rent is required to secure the booking. Payment of the balance and a refundable damage deposit of GBP 200 should be made 2 weeks before arrival. We prefer payment by electronic bank transfer. The damage deposit, less charges for any damages, will be refunded about 2 weeks after the end of the let.
