Nestled between the dramatic sheer cliffs of the Atlantic coastline the Turquoise coves of the Mediterranean sea and the hills of Monchique you'll find the quaint village of Bordeira. Dating back to the 18th Century, the house rests in a peaceful village of 45 inhabitants. It was rebuilt after the 'Great Lisbon Earthquake' which also destroyed most of the West Coast of Portugal. The house has kept elements of its traditional Portuguese heritage with whitewashed mudbrick and stone walls, and terracotta tile floors and roof, typical of the area. In the heat of summer, the interior spaces offer a cool respite from the outdoors. High ceilings and large living spaces create comfortable socialising areas inside, whilst outside the ivy lined rear courtyard is also equipped with outdoor table, chairs and large umbrella.

Bedrooms: The house is equipped with two double bedrooms and a single trundle bed that sleeps two in the living room.
Each double bedroom includes a double wardrobe with drawers and hanging space. Linen and duvets are provided for six persons.
Bathrooms: The simple tiled bathroom includes shower, toilet and bidet.
Towels, hand towels, face washers and bathmats provided.
Kitchen: Kitchen is equipped with family size fridge, gas cooker, clothes washing machine, electric kettle, toaster, cooking utensils, tea towels and table settings for six. Table and chairs are provided for dining in side or out in the courtyard.
Living Rooms: Overlooking an expanse of neighbouring farmland, the living room is a generous space with high ceilings. It receives the morning sun but can be shaded during peak summer with the traditional timber shutters.

Notes on accommodation
Open plan living room and kitchen is ideal for entertaining. The living space is equipped with sofa/trundle bed, cane chairs, large coffee table, antique side board with stereo and wood fire.

Outside
The house accesses an ivy lined rear courtyard and is also equipped with outdoor table, chairs and large umbrella.

Coast/Beach
For anyone interested in sun worshipping or surfing the coastline on both the south and west coasts are simply amazing. Praia do Amado 5-10 mins from the house is considered one of Portugal’s best surf beaches. Remote and completely undeveloped, the stretch of beach is great for beginner surfers but can deliver some big swell aswell. The pro junior championships are held here each year.

Golf
Some of most diverse golf courses can be found in the Algarve on the southern stretch from Faro to Budens, Parque do Floresta 20 mins from Bordeira. Within a 1.5 hour drive from Bordeira you can access over 20 courses, which cater to all levels. Courses weave their way through diverse scenery from dense vegetation to ocean cliffs. The Algarve boasts 300 days of sun a year which ensures golf can be comfortably played all year round.

Bordeira is approximately 1.15 hrs drive by car from Faro airport and 3.5 hrs from Lisboa.
