The village of Cano is located in the ‘secret part’ of Portugal. 1 hour 30 mins drive from Lisbon airport or an hours drive from the local Spanish airport of Badajoz. The house, formally a Bishop’s Palace, is filled with antiques and locally painted Alentejano furniture. The house can rented as one large residence, which will sleep 10 people or separated into two parts. It consists of: 7 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, children’s playroom, one large drawing room with fireplace, a sitting room with fireplace and kitchenette leading onto a large terrace with steps down to the garden, fully fitted kitchen, large dining room, utility room with washing and drying machines and WC. The separate part of house for 6 people consists of: 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, drawing room with fireplace, kitchen, dining room, utility room and WC. There are covered and uncovered patio areas for eating and relaxing, garden, orange grove and fresh water pool.

Prices include: The maid (also available for extra hours on request at 5.00 € per hr.) Upkeep of garden and cleaning of pool. Water, electricity except during the winter months when the heat will be paid apart by the renters (electric radiators and wood burning salamanders and fireplaces.)

There is a daily maid who comes for two hours. The gardener keeps the gardens and pool clean. The water is changed every Saturday the house and gardens are set in 1 hectare of land. Plenty of space for parking inside and outside the property. |

The house and gardens are set in 1 hectare of land. There are covered and uncovered patio areas for eating and relaxing, a garden, an orange grove and a fresh water pool.
Golf
The nearest Golf Course is in Marvão, a 45 minute drive. Covering 137 hectares of Parque Natural da Serra de São Mamede, the Ammaia Club de Golf do Marvão is the first golf course in the North Alentejo region. Designed by the Portuguese architect Jorge Santana da Silva, the course has undulating greens, a large number of bunkers and four lakes.
It is an 18 hole course, par 72 (6.036m), facilities include a driving range, putting green, pitching area, trolleys, buggies, caddies, club hire, pro shop, restaurant, bar, terrace and swimming pool. The second nearest golf course is just accros the border in Spain also a 45 minute drive.

One and a half hours drive from Lisbon airport or an hours drive from the local Spanish airport of Badajoz.
Distances
The local historic town of Estremoz with a weekly open market and supermarkets is 23 km away. Cano has some local shops and a chemist. Cottage hospital and doctors located in Estremoz. World Heritage town of Evora is 60 km away.
Further details
Historical Towns: Evora with the Roman remains of Diana’s temple. The largest Roman villa remains on the Iberian Peninuslar outside of Monforte. The caves of Escoural near Montemor to name but a few.

Booking notes
A fee of 150.00 euros is paid upon booking. This is a non refundable reservation deposit. The outstanding amount is paid in full 28 days before arrival date. A deposit against breakages of 250.00 euros is handed to the owner upon arrival and returned in full except if there are any breakages, upon departure of the house.
Payment can be made into an English bank account at the equivalent exchange rate or payment in euros using Western Union directly to a Lisbon post office. Details given.
