Qunta da Gomeira is a new development. Situated within walking distance of the beautiful village of Cabanas and to the river front: where you can enjoy the 2 minute boat ride to the stunning Cabanas beach, with beach cafe and glorious 3km of white sand. On-site are a choice of 4 beautiful pools in secure landscaped gardens, children’s park, tennis court and skate board park. The local bar is Escalho run by Carlos Bruno and family and offers breakfast from 7am, lunch form midday and is open until approximately 2am everyday except Thursday, they offer British and Portuguese cuisine to a very high standard. There are many good restaurants and cafe bars in Cabanas along with quaint little shops and a large supermarket as well as 3ATM machines. There are several golf courses in close proximity and is a good base for exploring this unspoilt part of the Algarve. Tavira is the nearest town and only a few minutes by car, bus or train and well worth visiting this pretty historical town.

Changeover day
Vacate the apartment at 10am and arrival is 3pm although we are flexible depending on new arrivals. Luggage storage available.

Outside
Large outside balcony with cast iron table and chairs, BBQ and twin awnings. The balcony benefits from the sun as its south/west facing. Landscaped gardens with seating and a choice of four swimming pools in a secured area with showers.
Coast/Beach
Cabanas beach is a 4 min walk and is reached by a very enjoyable 2 min boat ride for 1 euro return and has a beach cafe, parasol and sun bed, hire (seasonal), changing facilities, paddle boat and jet ski hire. There are also many more beautiful beaches along the coast to explore each with their own unique charm.
Golf
Castro Marim golf and country club.This superb course with its lightning greens rewards accurate, rather than long, play from the tee. A great golfing challenge and if the wind blows.
The new castle style club house has sweeping views over the entire course and the Spanish/Portuguese border and provides a fantastic setting for your 19th hole enjoyment. A further 18 holes are scheduled to open in 2008. Due to the hilly nature of this course we would recommend the use of a buggy for all but the fittest golfers! Buggies are available for rental on the day of your round at Castro Marim; we can pre-book these for you if you wish - just ask! Golf packages available from £199 pp per week based on four sharing.

Travel
Faro and the city is the nearest airport, reached by taxi, bus or train. We can arrange airport transfers for those that do not wish to hire a car. If you wish to explore more of the Algarve a hire car is recommended.
Distances
Faro airport is approx 40 mins by car/taxi and the pretty center of Faro and mariner. Tavira is the nearest town with quaint shops/restaurants and historical sights and is 10 mins by car or taxi or alternatively you can take the bus or train.
Further details
Cabanas has a large local supermarket, local fresh fish and vegetable markets, butchers, selection of cafe/bars, restaurants and quaint shops, also 3 ATM machines. Excursions are available from Cabanas and Tavira to water parks, zoo, safari trips and historical places of interest. Cabanas is only 20 mins from the border of Spain and its pretty town of Ayamonte.
Booking notes
25% deposit is required at the time of booking with full payment made 8 weeks prior to arrival. Payment to be made by cheque or BACS credit.
Guest comments
This is the first season for this new apartment, however we can provide comments from guests that have stayed in our other ground floor apartment in 2006/2007 which is fitted out to the same high standard.
