Casa Lonicera's accommodation is comprised of a main bedroom with en-suite shower room and two twin rooms, separate bathroom, large lounge/dining room and recently refurbished fully equipped kitchen. Outside there are ample sun-terraces, covered verandah, barbecue and 8m x 4m private pool.

Changeover day
Thursday changeover. Arrival at the villa anytime after 14.00. Guests are required to vacate by 10.00 on the morning of departure.

| Living Rooms: | The lounge has 3 new sofas (2 x 2 seater, 1 x 3 seater), TV with UK satellite channels and DVD player. Various board games are provided. The dining room comfortably seats 6 around a long table. There is a music centre. Both rooms open onto the verandah. |
| Other: | Upstairs on the landing there are bookcases with books for the guests to enjoy. A car can be kept in the carport for shade. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Towels (excluding beach/pool towels) and linen are provided, with towels changed twice per week and linen changed weekly. Maid service twice a week. The swimming pool is cleaned at least weekly. |
Notes on accommodation
Windows and patio doors are fitted with mosquito nets and roller shutters for added comfort. Metered telephone available.
Accessibility
The property is built on a hillside with stairs to different levels so is not suitable for wheelchair users/guests with mobility problems.
Outside
Much of the land has been turned into a garden with a profusion of colour (bourgainvillea, oleander, marguerites). The remainder is left natural with aromatic oregano, wild honeysuckle (from which the house takes its name), carob and cacti. From an internal staircase a small roof terrace can be reached, whilst adjoining the house is a balustraded covered verandah with superb views of the coast from Albufeira to Armacao de Pera and the Monchique Hills to the west. Steps lead down to further terraces, 8m x 4m private pool and a barbecue. Loungers, patio tables and chairs and umbrellas are available for sunbathing and alfresco dining.
Coast/Beach
The sandy beaches around Albufeira can be reached by car within 20 minutes. Access to the A22 is relatively easy so the broad beaches near the Spanish border and even the craggy cliffs of Cape St Vincent make for interesting days out.
Golf
The Algarve is a golfer's haven with over 20 courses within easy reach. The championship courses at Vilamoura are the closest (20 min drive).
Travel
Faro airport is 40 minutes from the villa via the EN125 or A22/IP1. A hire car is essential. The nearest railway station is at Tunes with connections east to Faro town, west to Lagos and north to Lisbon (3hrs).
Distances
In Paderne (just 5 minutes by car from the villa) there are several small cafes and reasonably priced restaurants. There are a couple of small supermarkets selling the basics and fresh meat, green-grocer, fish-monger, PO, bank and chemist. Larger supermarkets and shops are to be found in nearby Ferreiras, Loule and Albufeira, while in Guia there is Algarve Shopping, a modern shopping complex with multi-screen cinema, 10 pin bowling and International Food Court.
Further details
Paderne boasts it's own castle ruins (featured on the national flag!). The Moorish capital of Silves, poetic Alte and Loule are all well worth a visit, as are the Roman ruins at Milreu and the neglected but beautiful palace at Estoi. There are a wealth of sporting opportunities along the coast, including water skiing, paragliding and deep sea fishing. You can even swim with dolphins at ZooMarine, whilst between Quarteira and Portimao there are a number of water parks. Other family attractions include Algarve Zoo at Algoz, karting near Almancil and safari jeep tours through the Algarve countryside. For those who prefer to drive themselves, the country lanes near to the villa wind their way through orange groves and fields of fig and cork trees.
Booking notes
A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the rental is required to secure the booking, with the balance and a breakages deposit of £200 payable no later than 8 weeks before the rental commences. When the booking is made within 8 weeks of departure the rental plus breakages deposit are payable in full. The breakages deposit, less any deductions, will be refunded within 2 weeks of the end of the holiday.
