Changeover day
Change over day is flexible. We will request, if necessary, guests to vacate the apartment at 10am on the date of their departure.
New guests arriving can expect their apartment to be ready by 2pm and possibly earlier by arrangement.
Notes on accommodation
The Algarve is a popular destination for some winter sunshine, and we welcome guests during these months. To add to your comfort the vivendas are equipped with wood burning stoves or electic heater, as well as electric under blankets for the beds.
Outside
Quinta da Gomeira: At the far end of the grounds is the owners accommodation and gardens. Between the sun terrace and the garden is the 10m x 5m swimming pool, exclusively for the use of residents. Barbecue facilities are provided on the terrace.
Coast/Beach
A 15 minute walk from the Quinta is the village of Cabanas, a small friendly resort, offering a good selection of restaurants overlooking the "Blue Flag" island beach and the ocean. Around the sea front there are supermarkets, meat and fish, fruit and vegetable markets.
Between Gomeira beach and Monte Gordo there are miles of unspoilt coastline, with many sandy beaches, dotted with small fishing villages, each containing excellent restaurants.
Golf
The Benamor golf course is a few minutes drive from the Qufnta and, at a par of 71, offers a fair test to golfers, both high and low handicap. Discounted green fees are available for guests of the Quinta. In addition, there are five other golf courses within a 30 minute drive from the Quinta.
Travel
Faro and the airport are about 40 minutes traveling time by car or taxi, somewhat more by bus or train.
Distances
In Conceicao village, a 7 minute walk from the Quinta, there is a post-office, a chemist, two mini-markets, bars, and restaurants, plus regular bus and train services.
A few miles to the east is the unspoilt village of Cacela Velha with a church and a small fortress set on a cliff top.
Some 5 Kms to the west is the town of Tavira, generally regarded as the most beautiful in the Algarve.

The Local Area:
Sitio de Gomeira is a typical Algarvian farming area, stretching from the small village of Conceicao to the sea, through fields of almond, olive, orange and lemon trees.
The Quinta or Farm is situated within the Ria Formosa nature reserve, an undeveloped wild life area stretching from Faro in the west to Cacelha Velha in the east. Between Gomeira beach and Monte Gordo there are miles of unspoilt coastline dotted with small fishing villages, each containing excellent restaurants.

A deposit of 50% is payable with reservation EXCEPT for one week bookings which are payable in full. Balance of payment to be made six weeks before commencement of your holiday.
