Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. As flights on Fridays tend to be more reasonable, we recommend Friday as the changeover day. We will try to be flexible where possible. Please email with requests for short breaks or longer lets.
Pool heating planned for 2009. If you require the pool heating on there will be a £50 charge per week to cover running costs.

Changeover day
Preferred changeover day Friday / Saturday. We will be flexible where possible. Friday flights often cheaper.

Notes on accommodation
Central heating.
To accommodate babies we have a cot, high chair, stair gate, Avent steam steriliser and electric hand blender if you wish to make your own baby food.

Accessibility
Most of the accommodation is on the upper floor with a large en-suite bedroom downstairs. A ramped drive enables direct car access to the upper floor via the kitchen, however there are still 2 wide steps to gain access. The lower floor is easily accessible via the main entrance. All floors are tiled.

Outside
Good sized 48 sq.m. L-shaped private swimming pool with water feature, pool lighting and poolside shower. Garden areas, patio with barbecue, outdoor table seating 8 and 6 sun loungers. Pool inflatables available. Central balcony has table and seating for 6.

Coast/Beach
20 mins to Obidos Lagoon. 20 minutes drive to beach at Foz Do Arelho. Baleal and Peniche surfing beaches 25mins. Many more beaches within 30 minutes drive. Great surfing beaches and safe bays for young children.

Golf
Praia d'el Rey and Golden Eagle (Quinta do Brincal) courses
within 20 to 30 mins. Numerous other courses within easy reach.

Special interest holidays
Horse riding, sailing, diving, surfing and Kite surfing available locally with instruction if required.

The villa is 75km from Lisbon Airport (under 1 hour travelling time). UK Flights to Lisbon from: Manchester - BMI Baby, Thompson Fly / Liverpool - Easy Jet / Birmingham - BMI Baby

400m walk to a small grocery shop, cafe/bar and post office with free internet access. 0.5km walk to good restaurant. 1.5km drive to one of the best restaurants in the region. 10 minutes drive to Obidos Castle and walled town and many good restaurants. 20-30 mins from a great selection of beaches. Excellent Vineyards and wineries within 5km. 30mins from the Alcobaca monastery. 25 mins to water park. 40 mins to Mafra Palace. 55 mins to Sintra - beautiful historic town. 55 mins to Lisbon centre.

Further details
Great surfing beaches nearby at Baleal & Peniche. Horse riding available locally. There are many historic monasteries and castles in the area. 4 mins to the excellent Mae d'Agua restaurant. There are many other good fish restaurants, an excellent Italian and Thai nearby. Nearest supermarket 10 minutes drive.

Lisbon has many interesting historic buildings including a superb Cathedral, The largest aquarium in Europe next to a cable car ride and viewing tower.
Saint George's Castle (Some parts dating back to 6th century) provides spectacular views over the city

In mid July Obidos hosts a fabulous Medieval festival. At the same time Bombarral hosts their annual wine festival. You can sample wine form all the regional producers if you have the staying power and a taxi home. In Feb 2008, Obidos hosts a week long international chocolate festival attracting 200,000 visitors annually . A chocoholics dream and features a raft of events for chocolate-lovers of all ages. Aside from the judging of such mouth-watering competitions as the International Chocolate Recipe and the International Chocolatier of the Year contests, visitors can also see some incredible chocolate sculptures that really need to be seen to be believed.

'We really enjoyed our time at the villa... you are very lucky to own such a fabulous place. We eat at Mae D'Agua on the Thursday and the food was excellent, really well presented and tasty. The selection of starters they put on the table was superb. We had a bottle of wine from the vineyard across the road and the whole lot came to around 60 euros, so really good value. We had a look at a couple of other properties we had also considered (one in Praia D'el Rey and the other in Foz D'Arello). We are so glad we chose yours because the area is so beautiful and quiet.
