The facilities at Alto Country club are extensive, with large indoor and outdoors pools, floodlit tennis courts, putting green, gym, sauna, jacuzzi, beauty salon, snooker, and children's play area.
Coast/Beach
The golden sands and restaurants of Alvor beach are within 0.5km away, 2 min by car, or a 5 min walk.
Golf
Alto Golf is a challenging parkland course close to the sea and the last to be designed by the late Sir Henry Cotton. Our guests have access to preferential rates. Alternatively, along the Algarve coast there are more there more than 25 other renowned golf courses, including the famous Quinta do Lago and the Royal course at Vale do Lobo. Travel
Fly to Faro, 40 mins away, or Lisbon, 2 hours by motorway. Cheap flights are available with Easyjet, MyTravel, Air Berlin, Flybe and many charter operators. Also well serviced by flagship carriers like British Airways. Car hire is recommended and there all majors companies are represented at the airport as well as some competitively priced local companies. Taxi transfers from Faro to the apartment can be arranged and cost around 60 euro.
Distances
Alvor is a 5 min walk, and is a picturesque fishing village full of delightful restaurants serving a huge variety of fresh fish and local dishes, much of which is barbecued outside. Additionally there are many international restaurants as well as bars which have excellent nightlife (we can recommended our favourites).
Further details
Praia da Rocha and Portimao are close by and offer many shops as well as restaurants and nightlife. Within 30 mins are the picturesque and unspoilt Monchique mountains, the historic fortress towns of Silves, and Lagos. The stunning surfing beaches of the West coast and Cape St Vincent are a must, and just over 40 mins away by car.
