This is a spacious and tastefully furnished luxury 3 bedroom apartment in a gated complex on the Silver Coast. From the large terrace and living areas it has expansive views of the ocean, Obidos lagoon and Berlenga islands. Within the complex there are 3 infinity pools, and the apartment has easy access to the large sandy beach with its good restaurants and bars. The beach offers safe bathing in the lagoon as well as more adventurous activities such as parasurfing and boardsurfing. This charming location is secluded and has easy access to all the other attractions that this beautiful part of Portugal has to offer These include the medieval walled town of Obidos, Peniche, the golf and beach resort of Praia D'el Rey, wine route. Lisbon is less than an hour's drive away (enjoy its culture and wide avenues). For the more adventurous, there is easy access to an excellent motorway for Porto (2 hours drive).

Changeover day
The changeover day is Saturday. Arrival times are between 2pm and 6pm. Departure time 11am Saturday.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 is en-suite, with an ocean view from the queen size bed and private balcony. There are large wardrobe and cupboard spaces.
Bedrooms 2 and 3 both have twin beds and share a large bathroom, wardrobe and cupboard space alongside and lagoon views.
Bathrooms: Both bathrooms, one en-suite are fully tiled, with bath/shower, wc, bidet.
Kitchen: The kitchen leads onto a balcony with wonderful sea view, it is fully fitted with cooker, hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer, toaster and kettle.
Utility Room: An iron, ironing board and hairdryer are also provided. Sun loungers and relaxer chairs are for your comfort and to enjoy the terrace views across the ocean and lagoon.
Living Rooms: There are oustanding views of the ocean and lagoon from the living and dining areas. This large room has two 3 seater sofas, two comfortable chairs, dining table & chairs, television and stereo music system. Air Conditioning.
Other: The large terrace extends round 3 sections of the apartment. The terrace has a large marble table which comfortably seats six. There is plenty of room to sunbathe on the terrace or at the pool. In the evening, watch the spectacular sunsets over the ocean.

Towels and linen are provided for the apartment. Please note that we do not provide beach towels, beach mats or pool towels.

Accessibility
There are steps leading to and from the beach and a stairway to the apartment. The apartment is on the second floor and does not have lift facilities.

Outside
The shared exterior area is gated, with areas for sunbathing round the 3-tier infinity pools. All 3 pools have spectacular views over the ocean and lagoon. The close proximity to the beach makes it a wonderful place to take long walks round the lagoon.

Coast/Beach
A short walk down to the outstanding beach with its long expanse of sandy coast, lagoon bathing, good restaurants and bars, all provide the ingredients for a special holiday.
Over the summer months there are many activities that make the region an exciting and lively place to be. Wine tours, concerts. local fairs. Or, if it is tranquility you are looking for this is easily found in the countryside and within some of the secluded coves along this wonderful coastline.

Golf
Within 30 km of the fabulous Silver Coast golf course and beach resort of Praia D'el Rey.
Enjoy surfing, sailing, fishing, swimming and walking.

Travel
Lisbon Airport 85km (55 minutes). Porto 2 hours drive. Easy access to the A8 motorway.
Car hire is recommended, especially to enable you to enjoy the many historical sites within easy reach of the apartment.

Distances
Obidos: 12km This historic medieval walled hilltop town with its picturesque streets and views of the surrounding countryside. Caldas da Rainha: 8km to which there is a local bus from Foz do Arelho, where more extensive shops can be found, this includes a daily town market of cheeses, olives, fruit, vegetables, flowers, etc. Peniche: A working fishing port, take a boat trip along the coast, watch the surfers (a mecca for the surfing enthusiast) and some excellent snorkelling can be found here.

Further details
The village of Foz do Arelho is a 15 minute walk away where you will find small supermarkets, pharmacy, baker, taxi rank, doctor, bank, restaurants, bars. From Peniche there is a half hour boat trip to Berlenga Island, a nature reserve of outstanding interest. A surf school is located in Foz do Arelho.
A windsurfing and sailing club at Obidos Lagoon. Golf at Praia D’El Rey. Karting at Bombarral. Tennis, fitness centre and more sports in Caldas da Rainha.

Booking notes
A 30% deposit is payable within 1 week of booking (once the deposit has been received, the apartment will be marked as unavailable on the calendar), the remainder is due 8 weeks prior to commencement of rental. Please note that a security deposit of £300/450 euros is payable with the balance which will be returned within a week of leaving the apartment in good condition.

About the owner
We wanted somewhere where he could relax from the usual stresses of life so when my husband and I found Foz do Arelho and our apartment we knew we were fortunate. Both of us love to bring family and friends to see our property and are delighted when they too find it as charming a location and well situated as we do. I have provided guests with recommended restaurants, local wines and places of interest as well as the wide choice of sporting activities available; golf, fishing, sailing, surfing, horse riding and more. Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We bought our lovely apartment three years ago. It was difficult not to! The views provide an ever changing scene from day to day and entertain us constantly. We are close to excellent restaurants and bars so do not have to use the car to eat and drink locally. We are close to the village and village life, again within walking distance which enables us to get all our immediate provisions from the butcher, baker and small supermarkets as well as a coffee. Being so close by car to the town of Caldas da Rainha, I love to shop in its market place where almost every day I can buy local cheeses, olives, fruit and vegetables, flowers and plants and even a wicker basket! We are so close to so many places of interest, fun and culture that we felt we had to buy this wonderful apartment.

Unique benefits of the property
The view from the apartment is spectacular as it not only has uninterrupted views of the ocean; looking across to the Berlinga Islands and Peniche but also you can while away peaceful hours viewing the Obidos lagoon. Our terrace extends round three sides of the apartment and is large enough to follow the sun all day long and still remain in the shade if you wish. It really is only a couple of minutes from the beach providing either fun for all or romantic strolls on the sand. This is not only an area for the summer months, we have been lucky to enjoy sunshine throughout the year and still the bars and restaurants remain open. The market for all your produce is always available so getting the taste of the region is never a problem for you.
