Therefore there are beautiful coastline walks with retained wildlife, wild flowers & forna. The stylish and historical town of Lagos with its modern marina is minutes away by car. Porto Dona Maria is a perfect holiday destination all year round. There is fantastic resort shared swimming pool a short stroll from the house, and this too enjoys the breathtaking views of the ocean. The house is fully equipped with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a fully fitted kitchen as details overleaf, and a large lounge and dining area.

Changeover day
Can be flexible but Friday/Saturday preferred. House available from 2pm. Please vacate by 10am and settle all outstanding charges with reception e.g. telephone. If house required past vacation time, please email to request and we will try to accommodate.

Bedrooms: Bedrooms 1 & 2 are on the ground floor.
Bedroom 1 is spacious with a double bed and en suite bathroom, bedroom 2 is again very spacious with twin beds and en suite shower room, bedroom 3 with twin beds and shower room next door.
Bathrooms: En suite bathroom to bedroom 1 with double sink, wc, bidet, bath with shower, en suite to bedroom 2 with shower, wc and sink. Bathroom on the first floor next to bedroom 3 with shower, sink and WC.
Kitchen: Cooker with 4 gas hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and kettle.
Utility Room: There is a storage cupboard upstairs with brooms etc, ironing board, iron and clothes airer.
Living Rooms: Large spacious terracotta/rustic style lounge dining area which enjoys stunning views. 2 large sofas, open fireplace, dining table seats 6 and a small breakfast bar. Satellite TV, CD, radio and DVD.
Other: There is a large storage room on the ground floor which can house large items if required. Please email for consent to use.
The house has central heating for the winter season if required.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels and linen are provided. One full clean per week with change of linen and towels will be arranged. Additional cleaning and changes can be arranged for a small extra cost.

 

Notes on accommodation
Cots, highchairs, extra child beds, safe can all be arranged for a small additional charge.
Porta Dona Maria has a reception and 24 hour security in operation.
Daily bread delivery can be arranged and a food pack on arrival for a small additional charge.

Accessibility
The property is accessed on the first floor via a small stairway. Not suitable for wheelchair bound persons.
Smokers are requested to be respectful and step outside onto one of the beautiful terraces! No pets please.

Outside
To the rear is a very private courtyard area with barbecue - a real suntrap and very private. Above the courtyard and stairway there is ample parking space for 2 vehicles. There is a large balcony from the dining room and lounge with stunning views. On the ground floor outside bedroom 1 and bedroom 2 is a patio area, landscaped features and again, stunning views. There is a superb resort shared swimming pool a short stroll away. Porto Dona Maria has 2 restaurants on site. One by the pool offering grill specials and light meals. The other 'L'Escargot', open in the evenings, offering Mediterranean cuisine. Lunch or evening meals maybe ordered for delivery to the house.

Coast/Beach
Beautifull coastal/cliff walks to Praia Da Luz (15 mins to the east) and Burgau (20 mins to the west). By car is approx. 5 mins. Both have fine Sandy beaches surrounded by coloured cliffs. Luz is larger with water sports, kids club, sun beds and shade canapes for hire in high/mid season. Good restaurants and beach bar. Burgau is a traditional fishing village with a smaller beach than Luz but also has a great beach bar and several good restuarants.

Golf
Boavista Golf, an impressive 18 hole championship golf course with spectacular scenery and delightful views of Lagos Bay and the Monchique Mountains is only 3-4 km away.
Parque da Floresta 18 hole Championship golf course, with breathtaking views over the rolling hills of the Western Algarve National Park Conservation area is 3-4 km west of Porto Dona Maria.
Palmares Championship course is approx 20 mins drive away and the famouse Penina course is approx 30 mins drive away.
Porto Dona Maria are currently constucting a Golf Academy which they propose to open in March 2007. Please email for details if required.

Special interest holidays
Fishing boats, bicycles can be organised from reception for additonal charges.
There are riding stables in near by Almadena and a sports centre in Burgau which is great for tennis and children's activities.

Travel
Fly to Faro. Car really is essential. Car hire can be arranged from Faro airport which is approx 80km drive - all motorway. Approx 1 hour driving time.
Alternatively you can travel by taxi from the airport (approx £50) and Porto Dona Maria can arrange your car hire from reception as and when you require it and also your return taxi.

Distances
Praia Da Luz, Burgau are both 2km away and 5 mins by car.
Lagos is 7km and approx 10 mins by car.
Sagres (most westerly point) is 20km away and approx 15-20 mins by car.
Monchique Mountains are approx 40km inland.

Further details
Praia Da Luz Baptista supermarket is very good. There are other small supermarkets in Luz along with banks, post office, restuarants, takeaways and bars.
Lagos has larger super/hypermarkets and high street style shops.
Portimao (approx half an hour by car) has fantastic shops. You can of course arrange a taxi from reception.

Booking notes
If booking is required within 60 days of holiday dates, we need to double check availability with the resort.
Payment by sterling or euros cheque.
25% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm a booking. Balance is required within 8 weeks of arrival.
Cancellation charges: More than 8 weeks prior to arrival = no charge, 4-8 weeks prior to arrival = 50% of total rental rate, 2-4 weeks prior to arrival = 75% of total rental rate. 0-2 weeks prior to arrival = no refund.
