A wonderful characteristic Portuguese house with all amenities at hand and antique furnishings. Perfect for a romantic break away and an opportunity to holiday without driving. Tavira has wonderful restaurants, traditional pavement cafes public gardens and squares lined with shady trees, outdoor concerts on warm summer nights, boat trips up river to 12km of beach island, the makings of a perfect holiday. The house is belongs to the same family for over 300 years and has been totally refurbished recently. Being an old building with the traditional architecture the thick walls maintain a very cool temperature through the summer time. Although it is located in center of Tavira it very calm because of its private terrace and garden. It is suitable for young children there are no stairs and the garden is walled and access is gated. Easy acess to anythings you want.

Outside
The garden has grass flower bed and an ample paved seating area with awning and barbecue. Outdoor furniture on the terrace. A large old palm tree adds to the character of 'secret' garden in the centre of town.
Coast/Beach
White sandy beaches cover the cost of Tavira and the sea water temprature is the highest in Algarve.
You will be at a walking distance from Ilha de Tavira beach, but you also can arrive there by boat, or bus from the city.
The way to the beach will make you cross the Natural Park of Ria Formosa where you can birdwatch and see the saltworks.
Golf
Within 10 mins drive from Tavira you can find very good golf courses as, Quinta da Ria, Quinta de Cima and Benamor and another further afield.
Travel
Faro International Airport is 30 minutes drive from Tavira.
Seville in Spain is at two hours distance. Lisbon is at three hours driving.
Plenty of car hire companies are available including all the main international ones at Faro airport, but also in Tavira is quite easy to rent a car. Buses and Trains also available from Tavira to all main destinations.
Distances
The fishing villages of S. Luzia e Cabanas about 5Km from Tavira are excellent to eat fresh fish and seafood. Cacela Velha a well preserved old city over the Ria and the sea is a interesting spot at 10 Km.
Further details
Tavira has now plenty of restaurants, pubs and bars almost all with outdoors facilites in Summer.
Supermarkets, banks are at less then 5 minutes distances.
Local Market as a great offer of fresh fish, seafood, vegetables and fruits.

A deposit of 50% is required at the time of reservation and is not refundable on cancellations no less then one month before arrival. The balance should be settled up at arrival.
