The property has been completely modernised to provide a comfortable living space. Walk out of the patio doors and a few steps will take you on to the safe sandy beach and salt water lagoon. There is a large private roof terrace with views of the lagoon and mountains, perfect for sunbathing, dining out and watching the wonderful Algarve sunset. The property is 5 minutes from the ferry, shop and restaurants.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per person, per night in UK Pounds (Sterling).
Min.charge 2 adults, min 4 nights.
Min charge 4 adults when booking a party over 6 people.
One free child with every paying adult. additional children charged at £25 per duration of holiday. no charge for babies under 6 months.
Maximum occupancy is 8 people. There is a 25 euro surcharge for late arrivals to cover the cost of the return water taxi to Olhao for Maz.(the lady that meets you on Armona).
Changeover day
We have no set changeover day.The house is available from 3pm on day of arrival. We ask you to vacate by 10am on departure day. We meet every guest from the ferry and take you to the house.

Notes on accommodation
The house has 4 separate bedrooms with a large open plan living area. all designed for easy living. The outside area is enclosed by a low wall with ample outside seating areas both in the shade and full sun. Ideal for balmy evening barbecue's with a glass of the local wine.
Accessibility
The property is all on one level as is most of the island, however the ferries are not wheelchair friendly.
Outside
Outside of the kitchen door there is a patio area with seating and a chimney style BBQ. Under the front balcony there are table and chairs overlooking the front garden. The private terrace upstairs has a table and chairs plus sun loungers. There is also a small patio area and outside shower by the patio doors going to the beach.
Coast/Beach
You are surrounded by miles of safe sandy beaches. The shallow lagoons at the front of the house are ideal for swimming and snorkeling. The Atlantic beach at the other side of the island is about 20 minutes walk and is fantastic for beach combing. We find many large and unusual shells washed up on this beach. It is possible to walk to the far end of the Island along the beach and this would take approx 2 hours.There are many types of migrating birds plus chameleons and plenty of wild life.
Golf
From Olhao there are several top quality golf courses within 15 minutes driving distance.
Travel
The nearest airport is Faro approx 20 mins by taxi. Taxis are available 24/7 or car hire if you require. It is not essential to hire a car as all of the shops are within easy walking distance of the ferry at Olhao.The ferry to the island takes approx 15 minutes. There is a water taxi service 24/7 which costs 20/25 euros.
The Island is a traffic free zone with everything within an easy level walking distance.The locals are very friendly with many speaking English.
Distances
The mainland is only 15 minutes from the Island and is serviced by a regular ferry service.There is a bus and train service from Olhao which will take you in either direction along the Algarve coast for days out.Spain is less than an hours drive away. A short distance from Olhao is the Ria Formosa Environment Centre which explains the importance of the Islands to visitors. There is a working tidal mill with cafe and it is also the home of the unique water dog with webbed feet.
Further details
There are a number of restaurants/bars on the island and a mini market with fresh bread and fish daily. Banks are located on Olhao sea front as is the tourist information centre. Free Internet access is also provided in Olhao. There are several supermarkets and many other local shops and the largest fish/produce market on the Algarve is all a couple of minutes walk from the ferry terminal.There are dozens of bars and restaurants on Olhao seafront, Boat trips are available from the island to discover the Ria formosa nature reserve. Kayak hire is available in Olhao. The Island is all about chilling out and enjoying yourself. There are no high rise apartments or English breakfasts on the Island,(unless you cook it yourself).This is an unspoilt and protected region of the Algarve which the Portuguese had kept to themselves for years. We were very fortunate to find this fantastic Island and it gives us great pleasure offering others the opportunity to discover this hidden gem.
Booking notes
We require 30% deposit when booking with the balance paid 45 days prior to arrival. We prefer a bank transfer or cheque. We also take paypal and credit cards but have to make a 3.5% surcharge for these. Security deposit. We require a deposit of £50.00 to cover lost keys or damage.This will be refunded within 7 days of the end off your holiday by Bank transfer.
