Notes on accommodation
The village of Luz and the Estrela da Luz complex are family friendly. All apartments have either cable or Sky and contain TV, DVD, HiFi. The resort is also very suitable for a peaceful out of season break. There is designated underground parking at the resort and a lift to each apartment.
Outside
The balconies all provide views over the pool and are furnished. Below there are 3 outdoor pools amongst the landscaped gardens including 1 for toddlers as well as an indoor pool which is part of the spa and contains a Jacuzzi.
Coast/Beach
5 mins walk to the lovely promenade and stunning beach flanked by sandstone cliffs and lined with sumptuous beachside cafes and restaurants. A complete range of water sports are available from the beach including an all day club for those kids a bit too big for the kids club on the complex. The dramatic, beautiful west coast is only half an hour away by car.
Golf
Estrela da Luz is well served by 4 golf courses - Boavista (5 mins), Palmares, Parque de Floresta, Penina. All within 20 mins, all 18 hole and Estrela da Luz guests enjoy a discounted rate.
Travel
Faro airport which can be reached by most UK airports is an hour away from Luz. Car rental can be arranged from the airport as well as taxis to the complex. There is also a cheaper shuttle bus option available but does take longer.
Distances
Everywhere in Luz can be reached on foot. Lagos is under 10 mins away if driving. The west coast is just under half an hour. Lisbon is 3.5 hours drive.
Further details
There is a supermarket, cinema, cash points and a multitude of restaurants and bars all within 5 mins walk from the complex. Activities such as surfing, wakeboarding, mountain biking etc can all be arranged with discount. Children's and other activities are all provided from reception including 'Slide and Splash', dolphin trips, sail and speed boat charters.
Booking notes
You will be required to pay a booking deposit of 25% by cheque, bank transfer or paypal. The balance will then need to be paid in complete 6 weeks before arrival.
