The contemporary open plan living space, modern kitchen and high beamed ceilings help make the house a special place to relax whether you come for the pool and spectacular beaches or country walks and evenings spent in front of the open fire. It was built as a family home and is equally suited for those with young children or as a romantic getaway. There is a maid service twice a week and our local English speaking house manager in Silves who is always available to help out if needed.

Changeover day
The change over day is flexible. The house is available from 3pm and we normally ask clients to vacate the house by about 10am to allow time for the change over. But in practice this is very flexible depending on your flight times.
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with large double bed has double doors to large terrace with amazing views to the hills. Bedroom 2 with twin beds and views to hills and window to pool area. Bedroom 3 with full sized bunk beds (cot available) and balcony with views to hills. |
| Bathrooms: | Upstairs Bathroom 1 has bath view a view! large shuttered windows, heated towel rail, shower cubicle. Downstairs bathroom 2 has underfloor heating and luxurious walk-in shower. |
| Kitchen: | The newly fitted kitchen is open plan to the main living area and has double doors to the pool terrace. All new appliances inc. gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer. Well stocked crockery, glasses and cooking utensils. |
| Utility Room: | Ironing board, iron, washing machine. |
| Living Rooms: | The open plan lounge has two large comfortable sofas, desk area and window seats. Large open fire and air-con/heating. 21" TV with DVD/VHS player and satellite with all UK terrestrial TV and radio channels. CD and tape HiFi with jack for iPod connection. |
| Other: | The house has wooden floors in all bedrooms and wax polished terracotta tiles throughout downstairs. The painted windows, shutters and chestnut beamed ceilings together with the thick white walls gives the house a special ambience. |

Notes on accommodation
The small pool is 2.7m x 3.2m x 1.2m (9'x10'6"x4') and perfect for cooling off, lolling around and playing with the kids. It has beautiful views across the valley and a separate gated (lockable) terrace making the outside space suitable for young children/Toddlers. The air-conditioning in all rooms is available at an additional charge of £91pw. Fire wood can be arranged at an additional charge in the cooler months.
Accessibility
The property has internal stairs and steps into the house that would not suit wheelchair users. Though there are only five steps up from main living area to Bed 2. There is a stair gate at the top of the stairs for toddlers.
Outside
The dining terrace has a large dining table and chairs as well as built in seating with upholstered cushions. This terrace is shaded by a pergola with built-in barbecue and steps up to the pool. There are 4 loungers and two large umbrellas for additional shade. At the front of the house is a large garden area with ample parking, mature olive and pepper trees, and handsome red sandstone walls. This is a great place for kids to run around, explore and play safely as well as a prefect place to play boule in the evening.
Coast/Beach
Located 10 minutes from the historic town of Silves means that the house 25 minutes drive from the lush mountain landscape of Monchique as well as some of the most spectacular beaches in Europe such as Praia da Marinha, Benagil, Prianha and Albandeira.
Golf
Silves Golf is the closest course at 15 mins but many others are within 25 minutes.
Travel
Faro airport is 40 minutes drive. Car hire is essential.
Distances
Close to the large reservoir 'Barragem do Arade', 7km from Silves. The area has great local restaurants (closest at 2km is walkable), country walks and beautiful spring flowers giving it a true sense of the 'real' Algarve. Fabulous beaches, golf, horse riding and other outdoor activities, fun days out for kids at Slide and Splash, Zoomarine and Crazy World are all within 25 minutes drive.
Further details
Silves has a large supermarket as well as a great local produce market which spills out on the surrounding streets. There are numerous cafes, restaurants and the imposing red sandstone castle. There are particularly good local country restaurants within 10 mins drive in Vale Fuzeiros which serve delicious food at very reasonable prices. We will send a googlemap with locations of recommended restaurants, best beaches, golf etc with all confirmed bookings.

We ask for a 25% deposit (non-refundable) to confirm a booking with the balance due 4 weeks prior to your arrival date.

Trisha grew up in the Algarve and her family still live here making Terraquina the perfect place to come and visit with our children. We lived here full time with the kids whilst renovating the house, but now live in London and try to get back as often as we can.
