A perfect location for peaceful breaks away, in a beautiful, historic and very charming town. Good restaurants, bars and cafes for enjoying the outdoor Portuguese climate and lifestyle! The apartment has all home comforts including dishwasher, washing machine, satellite TV with English speaking channels, air conditioning, DVD player and video player. A spacious living room with air conditioning and large sliding glass doors accessing the terrace, 2 leather sofas and modern furniture. The double bedroom also accesses the terrace and has a bathroom adjacent. The two other bedrooms are both twins, 1 with air conditioning and both with balconies. There is also a bathroom adjacent to these rooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with table and chairs and access to the terrace for dining 'alfresco'. Sun chairs and sun umbrellas, seating and a table and barbeque are provided on the terrace.

Suitable for all ages. The apartment is accessed by either elevator or stairs, also wide enough for wheelchair users. There is ample parking space outside the building and the neighbourhood is quiet and safe.

Coast/Beach
You will discover wonderful golden, sandy beaches, beach bars and restaurants on an island 10 miles by 1. The Tavira access to the Island is by boat. Sta Luzia village next to Tavira also has the beautiful beach of Barril, situated in a nature reserve and reached by a miniature train. Within the Algarve there are over 100 beaches all within an hour to an hour and a half drive. All you have to do is choose!

Golf
Quinta da Ria, a new golf course lies along the coast just to the east of Tavira at a place called Fabrica, about 5 minutes drive from the apartment. There is also the less challenging Benamor course, designed by Henry Cotton which opened in 2000 on the outskirts of Tavira. The more famous courses at Villamoura are all a 40 mins drive away on the motorway. For further information please contact for details.

Travel
The nearest airport is Faro which is a 30 minute drive. Jerez da Fronteira in Spain is also an option, often cheaper than Faro though a car is necessary for transfer to the property as bus/train services are complicated.

Distances
Tavira can be reached via a small lane leading either to the old town or the river and also by the riverside road which also leads to an easy exit route from Tavira. Car hire is not necessary for this accommodation, though an advantage for visiting the many nearby attractions of Tavira and its surroundings. Tavira Island beach is a 10 min drive away. Alternatively, from mid June to mid September there is a boat service from the centre of town, only 10 mins walk from the apartment.

All amenities can be found in Tavira. Tavira and this apartment is suitable for families and couples of all ages. Tavira is renowned for its 38 historic churches and its 4 beautiful bridges spanning the Gilao river which divides the town and allows for spectacular riverside views of the medieval town and river life. Numerous cafes and restaurants line the river, public gardens and quiet squares, offering an array of traditional patisseries and fresh fish dishes. The castle walls border the medieval centre of town, encompassing tranquil gardens and a camera obscura. From here scan over the rich tapestry of peaked rooftops to the estuary leading through the mosaic of salt pans and far out into the Atlantic.

Booking notes
Prices are in euros. Deposits of fifty per cent required within two weeks of making booking, the balance due up to eight weeks prior to arrival. Bookings made less than six weeks prior to arrival must be paid in full on confirmation of booking. Guests will be met at the villa and will have a contact number in case any assistance is required. Cancellation refunds: Up to 8 weeks – no cancellation charge. 4-8 weeks – 50% of rate refunded. Less than 4 weeks – no refund.
