Newly furnished top floor apartment with a sun terrace and a second large roof terrace for relaxing, sunbathing and BBQ's overlooking the driving range and practice greens in the prestigious gated Vile Dos Principes condominium, Praia del Rey, the European Golf resort of the Year 2007. The apartment has all the facilties you could need, 2 minutes walk from the club house and first tee, less to the driving range, 10 mins to the tennis courts, the beach and the 5 star Marriott Hotel and Atlantico spa for those who enjoy being pampered. The apartment is close (20-40 mins) to the most historic sites in Portugal, including Obidos, Alcobaca and Batalha; three world heritage sites. Within 45 mins is Sintra and its palaces and Lisbon which has many sites including numerous palaces, the zoo and the worlds second largest Oceanarium. If you prefer the more active pursuits, Obidos Lagoon and Peniche cater for surfing, wind a kite surfing and sailing. There is something for everyone, golfer or not.

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is new and in its first year of rental. It is fitted out with everything one could need. It is large and benefits from both a sun terrace & a roof terrace allowing guests to stay in the sun or in the shade all day. Gas central heating is installed. Security is via electronic gates.
Cots and/or high chairs may be hired.

Accessibility
As a first floor apartment it is not suitable for those who find steps difficult.
Outside
The surrounding communal gardens are colourful with lanscaped shrubs and trees and are beautifully kept. There are several childrens play areas within walking distance. The closest heated swimming pool (1 of 3 on site)is opposite. It has a childrens shallow area, changing facilities/shower & plenty of sun loungers.
Coast/Beach
It is a 10 minute walk or two min. drive to the beautiful beach with plenty of parking. Or you use the Marriott Hotel shuttle. Miles of uncrowded silver sands in both direction for walks or relaxing sunbathing. Kite board in the rolling Atlantic. Baleal beach is close by along with Obidos Lagoon with endless beaches and shallow pools ideal for children.
Golf
Rated as one of the finest courses in Portugal and recently voted European Golf Resort of the Year. It was a Gold Award Winner for best golf development by 'Home Overseas' magazine and rated as 13th best in Europe by 'Golf World' magazine. The par 72 links style course has fairways that run alongside the fantastic Atlantic coast and then wind through scented pine forests. Regularly hosting major competitions this course is beautifully landscaped and held in high esteem in Europe. Trollies, buggies and clubs are available. On site facilities include a driving range, putting chipping and bunker practice area, and there is a professional on hand for lessons.
The clubhouse has an excellent bar, snacks and a restaurant. Information is available for neighbouring courses. Savings on green fees can be made by booking in advance on the Web.
The resort also has tennis and basketball courts with equipment rental.
The area is also the best in Europe for surfing, wind and kite surfing.
Special interest holidays
Golf lessons can be booked and there is a childrens golf club.
Surfing courses, complete with all board and suit hire can be booked at Peniche, Baleal and Obidos Lagoon. Also sailing and kite surfing.
The resort has tennis courts and courses, childrens clubs, and a football pitch.
For the more leisurely, tours of Portugese palaces, castles and the shrine at Fatima can be arranged. Wine tours around the local vineyards are also very popular.
Travel
Praia d'el Rey is an easy 50 minute drive on the A8 from Lisbon airport. You will need approx 5 euros for the motorway toll. The drive from Faro is approx 3 hours and 2 hours from Porto. Full directions and on site assistance is provided and car hire is advisable. BA and TAP fly to Lisbon from Gatwick
and Heathrow. TAP also fly from Gatwick. Easy Jet have flights from Stanstead and Luton.

Lisbon 50 minutes. Peniche 20 mins. Baleal 15 mins. Obidos 20 mins. Obidos Lagoon 12 mins. Serra del Ray 10 mins. Foz Do Arelho 20 mins.
Further details
Resident Services will meet you with a key and show you the apartment. They will take care of any problems that may occur (if any) and organise the laundry and cleaning. There is a cash point at the club house which takes major credit/debit cards. A small shop can be found on the site for essentials. In Obidos there is a good range of restaurants and the Pingo Doce supermarket for those who prefer self catering.

"The apartment is first class, very comfortable, in a private gated area of the resort, with lovely open views. A real feature is the rooftop terrace which offers a great place to sit back and enjoy the weather, offering both sun or the shade all day long. The pool is very handy, only 1 minutes walk. The clubhouse is in walking distance and a lovely beach is on hand. The owners could not have been more helpful, offering sound advice on things to see and do, as well as directions right to the door! All in all, one of the nicest apartments we have stayed in.
