The front door of the villa is on the top floor and leads into a hallway with a cloakroom, lounge, dining area and kitchen off. There is a superb view of the bay from the upstairs terrace. The bedrooms are downstairs with patio doors to the garden and south facing pool. The master bedroom has its' own bathroom. The kitchen has a microwave, gas/electric hob, electric oven, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The beachside village of Praia da Luz on the Algarve's southwestern coast is located approximately 6km from Lagos. Luz's origins date back to Roman times and a bath complex and fish salting tanks have been found near the shore. With its newly cobbled promenade (which include various designs in its surface) and rebuilt church. The beach has been awarded a blue flag for safety and is only a 10 minute walk from the villa as is the town centre. There are a variety of things to do for all the family including a leisurely afternoon by the private pool.

Notes on prices
Deposit of £100 or 150 euros pw required to secure reservation - balance payable 12 weeks before start of holiday. Weeks crossing 2 price bands are charged on a pro-rata basis. Bed linen, towels, electricity and 3 x weekly maid service are included in the price. Central heating is available at a cost of £25pw. Contact us for longer term rental periods where rates can be arranged. Flights NOT included in the price.
| Bedrooms: | The villa has two bedrooms, and sleeps 4. There are 2 fold up beds which can be utilised to allow an additional 2 persons. Each bedroom has fitted wardrobes, shelves and drawers. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom. |
| Bathrooms: | The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with toilet, vanity basin, bidet, bath and integrated shower. There is another bathroom with toilet, vanity basin and shower. Each bathroom has a large mirror with lighting, There is also an upstairs toilet. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen has a microwave, gas/electric hob, electric oven, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Cooking utensils, pans etc are available for use. |
| Utility Room: | In a closet in the master bedroom there is ample storage for sunbed mats etc, there is also a safe to keep valuables in. |
| Living Rooms: | Well furnished lounge with cane 3 piece suite and coffee table, dining area with dining table and 6 chairs. Superb sea views through the patio doors, leading on to a large south facing terrace with patio furniture. Satellite TV, Games Machi and CD player. |
| Other: | Large terrace from the lounge and dining area which looks out over the bay giving superb panoramic views, not to be missed! Downstairs around the pool area is a large terrace with surrounding mature gardens. Sun loungers and relaxers provided. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Hand and bath towels are provided, changed twice weekly. Bed linen is provided and changed once a week. Beach/pool towels are not provided. Maid service 3 times a week. Two hairdryers, clothes dryer, ironing board and iron available for guests' use. |
Notes on accommodation
Central heating has been fitted throughout the villa. The gardens, pool and filter pump are attended to each week by a local maintenance team. The garden is well established and impressive both at the front and rear of the villa. Sun loungers are provided for guests to use around the pool area. No pets allowed. We have a strict no smoking policy inside the villa at all times.
Outside
The villa has mature gardens to the front and rear of the property as well as a south facing sun terrace by the pool. There is a large terrace area upstairs with stunning views. The pool is south-facing, benefits from underwater lighting, all day sunshine and is approximately 6x4 metres in size. The pool area is equipped with sun loungers and also enjoys a beautiful ocean view. It is important to note that the pool is not enclosed and small children will require close supervision at all times. The whole area promotes an air of tranquillity and relaxation.
Coast/Beach
Praia da Luz is only a 10 minute walk from the villa, as are the shops, restaurants and beaches. Lagos is approximately 6 km from the villa and has a lovely marina where pleasure and fishing trips can be obtained. There is also quite an historic quarter and a good shopping area.
Golf
The Algarve, two to three hour flight from the U.K, has been a magnet to many discerning golfers for over 30 years. Portugal’s southernmost province is justly famous for its spectacular scenery along a fabulous coastline. The main golf season is from late autumn to late spring. Winters are mild.
Boa Vista is approximately 3km from Praia da Luz, Parc de Floresta is 10km, Palmeras 15 minutes drive and Penina 30 minutes drive.
The many courses in the Lagoa area (Gramachio, Pestana, Vale de Milho etc) can be easily reached in around 30-35 minutes.
Skiing
There is a variety of water sports available in Praia da Luz.
Travel
Faro Airport is an approximately 45 minute drive to Luz mostly via the A22 motorway to Junction 1 which is 10 minutes from the villa. Detailed directions and maps for guests are provided on booking. Regular trains run between Faro and Lagos. The villa is just a 15 minute taxi drive away from Lagos station. A rental car is recommended particularly for those who wish to explore the coast and inland and also to travel to the many restaurants just outside the village and surrounding area.
Distances
10 minutes walk from the villa is the town of Luz, 10 minute drive from the villa is the town of Lagos, and to the west are the attractive Algarvian towns of Aljuzer, Monchique and Sines and are all within a 40 min drive.
Further details
Praia da Luz has many facilities for the visitor, it is well suited for a family and / or beach based holiday. There are many restaurants offering a variety of cuisine, a bank, post office and a small cinema which shows the latest films in English. The largest supermarket (Baptista) offers telephone ordering and free delivery to guests staying at Vila das Acacias. There is also a 24 hour medical facility and a dentist available.
