The farmhouse is situated on the edge of a little hamlet in the heart of typical Alentejano countryside, with its ancient olive trees, corn and sunflower fields. Peace and tranquillity is only interrupted by the sound of birds and goat bells. The nearest village of Motrinos is 1 km away, a short walk for local shopping, fresh bread, and fresh goat’s milk cheeses. The historical World Heritage town of Monsaraz set within its ancient fortified walls high on the hill, is about a 5 km drive; there are several excellent restaurants, craft shops and a castle dating back to the 11th century. S. Pedro Corval, the biggest pottery centre in Portugal is a 10 minute drive. Nearby is the newly formed lake, Alqueva, the biggest in Europe, a natural reserve with fishing and boating. There are 2 ancient neolithic burial chambers dated back to 3,000 BC just a 10 minute walk away. Visit the ancient olive trees - 1,000 to 3,000 years old. The well-known city of Evora is a 40 minute drive.

All the property can be booked for groups up to 26 people - ask for special weekly winter discount (except Easter, Xmas/New Year).

Casa Antiga/Suite Amarelo (2/3 Beds, Sleeps 4/8)

CASA ANTIGA (sleeps 4/6).
The old farmhouse dates back 300 years, has a living room with huge sit-in fireplace, a Kitchen with old slate countertops, 2 bedrooms which have the original domed ceilings. 1 bedroom has 2 single beds, with 2 extra drawer-type pull-out beds, (and a baby cot) another bedroom has a large double bed. One full bathroom.
Optional SUITE AMARELO (sleeps 2) connected directly by corridor to Casa Antiga or with independent entrance. Can be rented separately:
Sleeping alcove with double bed, 1 small bathroom with shower, a small sitting area (small single bed), a breakfast-maker (coffee/tea/toast), sink and a small fridge. There is an outside dining area next to the old bread oven (still useable) near to the lawn area.

Casa Forno/Studio (2/3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 6/10)

CASA DO FORNO (sleeps 4/6).
Adjoining house dating back 300 years, entered independently from road, recently restored as simple farmhouse accommodation. Living room with big sit-in fireplace, doors open out to dining patio with old bread oven "forno", kitchen (fridge, electric oven, gas hob, microwave etc.), 2 bedrooms each with 2 single beds, and 2 bunk beds (ideal for children) in alcove outside the bathroom which has small bath/shower.
Plus THE STUDIO (sleeps 2/4).
Can be connected to Casa do Forno directly from living room, also separate entrance. Lower floor has sleeping/relaxing alcove "Moroccan style", 1 bathroom with small bath/shower, a spiral staircase leads up to open mezzanine with double bed and breakfast maker (sink, small fridge, toaster oven, coffee/tea maker). Can be rented separately or joined to Casa do Forno.

Casa do Jardim (1 Bedroom, Sleeps 2/4)

The garden house, on the other side of the lawn, has a living room with a kitchenette and fireplace. There is an alcove with a double bed and a single bunk bed above (and a single sofa bed in the living room). 1 bathroom with full bath/shower. There is a covered terrace for outside dining.

Casa da Piscina (1 Bedroom, Sleeps 3/5)

The Pool house next to the covered BBQ area, has a living room with big sit-in fireplace and a domed ceiling, a fully equipped kitchen - microwave, dishwasher etc. With 1 bedroom with a double bed and single bunk bed above. There is 1 bathroom with a full bath/shower. The living room has a double sofabed.

Notes on accommodation
Includes: sheets, towels (bath not pool), electricity, water, gas. The maid is included once a week for general cleaning, changing sheets and towels. Extra hours by arrangement. Garden and pool maintenance weekly. Separate laundry room.
Amenities include a fireplace, TV, stereo, CD player, full kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and cooking utensils. Linens provided. Washer. Pet friendly.

10 minutes walk into nearby village of Motrinos with village shop, bakery and cafe.
10 minutes drive to the historical centre of Monsaraz with several excellent restaurants and local craft shops. A great central point for day trips (40 min drive) to historical towns Evora, Vila Viçosa, Elvas, Estremoz, or Badajoz in Spain.
