Notes on accommodation
The apartment offers a perfectly relaxing holiday for families, couples and golfers. Cot, highchair, changing mat and box of toys are available on request. There are books, CDs, DVDs and a box full of things for use on the beach; sun umbrella, buckets, spades, beach mats, football, boogie board and wind break. The terrace offers a great place to chill out, read a book or watch the kite surfers on the lagoon. The internet connection allows you to bring a laptop and (if required) you can stay in touch with work/friends. The apartment has central heating and double glazing thus making it comfortable all year round.

Accessibility
As the beach is reached by a number of steps this property may be difficult for people with restricted mobility.
Outside
The gated condominium offers a shared outdoor area with space for sunbathing and a 3 tier infinity swimming pool with children's pool. Spectacular views of the lagoon, beach and ocean from the swimming pool.
Coast/Beach
Foz Do Arelho's beautiful white sandy beach is just 2 minutes walk from the apartment. The lagoon is warm, calm and safe for children. The beach is enormous and never feels overcrowded. The Atlantic rollers are dramatic to watch and popular with surfers. There is a pirate ship play area for children on the beach and often some sort of inpromptu beach activity such as football or volley ball.
Other nearby good beaches include Sao Martinho da Porto (13km) and Salir do Porto (10km).
Golf
Just 25 minutes drive away is the famous Praia D'el Ray Golf Course. This award winning par 72 championship links golf course provides spectacular views of pine forests, sand dunes and the Berlengas Islands. Other local golf courses include Golden Eagle and Campo Real. There is full information on each of the courses and how to book tee times at low prices in the apartment folder. A set of golf clubs is available on request for guests to use.
Special interest holidays
The Sailing School on Obidos Lagoon offers the following activities; windsurfing, catamarans, kitesurfing, waterskiing and canoeing. You can choose to join a course for a few hours each day or take private lessons.
The Silver Coast is also one of Portugal's most exciting wine producing regions - via its wine route some excellent reds and whites can be sampled.
Travel
Lisbon airport - 86km (55 min)
Oporto airport - 3 hrs
Car hire is recommended to get from the airport to the apartment but once there, you can walk to beach, restaurants, bars etc.
Distances
The town of Foz do Arelho is a 10 minute walk/5 minute drive and offers a bank, bakery, pharmacy, doctor, mini-supermarkets and more bars and restaurants. The charming town of Obidos is a 15 minute drive to its cobbled streets, spectacular ramparts, white washed houses and shops with handicrafts. A 10 minute drive to Caldas (famous for pottery) offers hypermarkets, shopping and daily market offering fresh produce. Peniche (40km), a beautiful old fishing village, offers a water park and surfing.

The apartment provides a super place from which to explore some of the unspoilt Silver Coast. The Silver Coast remains alluringly Portuguese in its cuisine, language and pace of life. Not far away are three Unesco World Heritage Sites; the monasteries of Batalha and Alcobaca and the town of Sintra to the south.
