Casa da Praia is a lovely villa, formerly owned by General Vasco Concalves, a Portuguese army officer in the Engineering Corps who took part in the Carnation Revolution and later was the Prime Minister in Portugal 1974 to September 1975. It has 4 bedrooms, sleeps 8 very comfortably but by using two portable beds can accommodate up to 10 people. It has a large pool, surrounded by immaculately kept private gardens and is set amongst stunning woodlands. A wonderful peaceful location yet not isolated as there are 2 other high quality villas in the surrounding area. It has a large and very sunny living/dining room with domed ceiling, (very cool in summer, warm in winter), a pretty traditional kitchen, 2 double and 2 twin bedrooms, all with large cupboards and doors off for direct access to the garden and swimming pool. The pool terrace is equipped with loungers, chairs, tables. There is a BBQ area to the side of the property with table/chairs and night lights.

Small additional cost of £50/week each for up to 2 extra people. Prefer Sat to Sat July/August but look at our calendar. Happy to consider any start/end date other times.
Discounts for stays of more than 21 days and winter lets of more than 2 months.

Changeover day
We prefer Sat to Sat bookings July and August. Very flexible about start and end dates out of high season. So please check our calendar and then contact us to negotiate. Minimum stay is 7 days.

| Living Rooms: | Large lounge with dining area off with domed ceiling, open fireplace. Complete with satellite TV, DVD player which plays CDs. Very light and airy with doors leading off to terraces, BBQ area, pool/pool terrace and lovely gardens. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Towels and linen included. Also includes pool/each towels. Mid week villa cleaning. Change of linen/towels every 7 days. Additional cleaning can be arranged on request and for extra charge. Pool and beach towels also provided. |
Notes on accommodation
This very traditionally built villa is exceptionally cool throughout the year, so no need for airconditioning. Electric fans supplied but very rarely needed.

Accessibility
From the front drive to front door are 6 shallow steps which may make wheelchair accessibility difficult. However, once inside the villa all areas would be accessible - villa on one level only. Easy access using paths to gardens and pool.
Outside
The villa is surrounded by woodlands, yet is not isolated as there are a very small number of exceptionally high quality villas located in and around the woodlands. There is one villa close by. Casa da Praia has a very beautiful mature private garden with trees lots of grass and planting, has a fully furnished pool terrace and own private pool. There are further terraces/seating areas and a large separate BBQ area. It is gated electronically.
Coast/Beach
Ideally located for beach holidays - if you can bear to move away from the pool and pool terrace! The villa is only 3km from Vale do Garrão beach (25 mins walk or 4 mins drive)
The Vale do Garrão beach has some of the more popular beach restaurants and cafes in the area including the renowned Julias restaurant.
There are of course wonderful beaches and beach islands in all directions. More information in the Welcome Book in the villa.
Golf
This villa is ideally placed for golf as only minutes from many first class courses including.
Ocean Golf Course Royal Golf Course.
Quinta do Lago golf courses: (5 min driving).
Pinheiros Altos, Quinta do Lago North (Ria Formosa) and
San Lorenzo.
Vilamoura golf courses: (10 min driving).
Laguna, Millennium, The Old Course, Pinhal, Victoria and Vila Sol.

Faro airport is only 25 minutes away from the villa, approx 30km. We feel car hire is essential to enjoy the area and happy to provide you with car hire info. We can also help you rent bikes to enjoy the wonderful woodland areas, beaches, local shops etc. Horse riding centre close by, wonderful beach rides available.

Within just a few second from the villa is a horse riding school. Other activities in the area include horse riding, walking, hiking, golf, jet skiing, water skiing, sailing, wind surfing, tennis, go-karting, water parks, zoos, shops, nightlife, sightseeing there really is something for everyone.
There are some excellent international restaurants and a supermarket within 2-3 mins drive of the villa.
Booking notes
Excellent and very safe fully automated booking / payment system available, takes any currency, any credit/debit card. We require 25% deposit, balance and breakage deposit required 8 weeks before holiday. Breakage deposit returned 14 days after holiday subject to no breakages.

What a lovely villa. Casa da Praia is in a lovely peaceful location. Ideal if you want to get away from it all. The boys were kept happy with golf, our daughter was exceptionally happy with horse riding just down the lane. As the villa is on one level it was ideal for our elderly parents.
