Previously a stable the 'Little House' is a comfortable self contained apartment with en-suite shower room and galley kitchen within its private terrace. It is adjacent to the main house, Casa das Ameixas, which is the owners home. There is a large swimming pool available to guests. The property is a renovated traditional Portuguese farmhouse set in large grounds full of olive, almond, carob and fig trees. If you need more accommodation Casa das Ameixas is a 5 minute walk from Casa Agarve (P2949) where the grandchildren or friends could be staying.

Notes on accommodation
The owners of Casa das Ameixas live in the farmhouse with Max, a very friendly Border Collie, Radar a Portuguese bitzer and two cats. The property is not suitable for small children due to the proximity of the plunge pool on the terrace. The Little House has a wood burning stove.
Accessibility
The property is all on one level.
Outside
Private covered terrace with dining table, sun terrace, BBQ. Plunge pool. If more than a cool down is required guests are welcome to use the owners salt water swimming pool.
Coast/Beach
The Eastern Algarve coast is sheltered from the Atlantic Ocean in many places by sand bars or islands and these are reached by water taxi or ferry. The nearest beach is at Fuzeta, a 15 min drive Barrill beach just outside Tavira is 20 mins drive and reached by a small railway previously used to move fish from the coast. There are many bars and cafes housed in the old fish factory buildings. Tavira beach, reached only by ferry is 20 mins drive.
Golf
Golf courses, both 9 and 18 holes, are within a 30 mins drive.
Travel
Faro airport is a 35 min drive, Seville 2 hours, Lisbon 3 hours. A car is essential to staying at Casa das Ameixas and all the major hire companies are represented at the airports.
Distances
The nearest town of Moncarapacho is 10 mins drive away with shops, restaurants and banks. Olhao is a busy town 20 mins drive to the west with a large fishing fleet and daily market. Tavira is a picturesque town 20 mins drive east with 43 churches and many places of interest to visit.
Further details
Restaurants and bars can be found in all surrounding villages. Mini supermarkets are in Moncarapacho with large supermarkets located in Olhao and Tavira. There is a shopping and cinema complex in Faro and Tavira. Cash machines are available everywhere. A bowls green is 15 mins drive where visitors are made very welcome. There are marinas at Vilamoura to the west and Vila Real to the east. Spain is a 40 mins drive away across the Guardiana River by bridge or ferry.
