This beautiful villa with living space of over 2250 square feet was built in 1992 to very high modern standards. It is located on a south-facing hillside in a peaceful and private location overlooking the beautiful countryside. The area is great for short or longer trips. Because of its elevated position the ocean can be seen from the villa. The closest beach at Fuzeta is only about 20 minutes away by car.

Notes on accommodation
Air-conditioning with heating pump in the whole house and central gas heating (on demand, payable locally)). Hot water provided from solar panels and/or gas. A few steps lead from the well-kept lawn to the fenced pool. A children’s playground with swings und slide is located in the large garden under some large trees.

Outside
The large garden contains well-established carob, almond, oak and fruit trees. In addition, there are planted areas, regularly tended by a gardener. The private swimming pool size 4x 8.5m with gradual steps to allow easy access for children (max. depth 1,8 m). The terraces and pool area are fully furnished with tables, chairs, BBQ and sunbeds. Sunroofs alter with open areas.

Coast/Beach
A 20 mins drive to the next beach (Fuzeta), 30 mins drive to other beaches.

Golf
Various golf courses are 20-30 mins drive away near Tavira, at Val de Lobo and Quinta de Lago.

Travel
Faro airport 25 mins drive. Car hire or use of car is essential.

Distances
5 mins walk Mesquita Baixa. 5 mins drive S. Bras de Alportel
20 mins drive to Olhao, Tavira, Loule.

Further details
In Mesquita there is 1 small grocery shop. A vehicle selling fresh fish visits the village daily. S. Bras de Alportel has supermarkets, butcheries, fish and vegetable markets, as well as banks with Multibanco cashpoints in English.

About the owner
We are a German family, 59 and 53 years old, our daughter is 16. We are both physicists, we like nature, good food, have hopefully some sense for humor and do smile and laugh. Our daughter loves horses and rides them (quite successfully!). We also love all kind of animals; in the moment 2 cats belong to our family.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
During a holiday 1990 we just fell in love with the landscape in the east of Algarve and bought a piece of land. The house was built 1992. Since then, we still enjoy to be in Portugal. We did invest a lot in the house in order to keep it in a good condition and to improve the comfort. The pool was completely renewed inside 2 years ago. Last year we installed new solar panels for hot water and electricity. Even in the colder months the house can be heated with the hot water from the sun. In autumn this year we did replace the open fireplace with a modern, high efficient closed "thermojolly", which provides also hot water for the heating system. In this way the house can be heated completely with wood, if there are rainy days. Heating pumps for cooling or heating are also installed.

Unique benefits of the property
Since we love nature, we enjoy the area here. From our house we have a gorgeous view up to the ocean. Since a small road ends at our house, no cars are driving nearby. Here you can still find the genuine portuguese landscape, and have wonderful trips starting just from our house. If you look for a place full of tourists, do not book our house! If you look for a quite place, but nevertheless not far away from all facilities, you have the right choice with our villa. Last but not least, the area here is still very safe.
