Casa do Sino is a single level family villa situated on the Quinta dos Alamos residential development with private pool and views to the Monchique mountains. The villa consists of living/dining room, kitchen and three double bedrooms, one with children's room leading off. The patio doors lead onto a shaded veranda with outdoor table and seating for six providing the perfect setting for alfresco dining prepared on the barbecue. There is a small roof terrace for secluded sunbathing. The garden leads to a 9 x 4.5m blue mosaic pool with its own shower, sun loungers, tables and chairs. The adjoining private grassed recreational area is ideal for children. Casa do Sino has been accredited with its tourism licence by the Albufeira Municipal Department of Tourism which assures that the villa complies with required standards of accommodation and safety.

Pay in Sterling or Euro, 2010 bookings at 1.15 EUR : 1 GBP. Rental rates include air-conditioning and/or heating. Pool heating available at 120 GBP/week (recommended except July - September). 15 Sept 09 - 15 May 10, book for 3 weeks and pay for only 2 weeks. Long winter lets negotiable.

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 with twin beds and en-suite, has sliding doors to the patio and pool. Bedroom 2 with a double bed and separate children's room. Bedroom 3 has twin beds. All rooms have built-in wardrobes, air-con/heating and insect netting at windows.
Bathrooms: En-suite Portuguese tiled bathroom to Bedroom 1 with twin washbasins, bath/shower over, WC and bidet.
Fully tiled bathroom serving Bedrooms 2 and 3 with twin washbasins, bath/shower over, WC and bidet.
Separate shower room with WC and wash basin.
Kitchen: Fully fitted kitchen with stable door, marble breakfast bar, gas oven with four rings, double bowl s.s. sink, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, large fridge freezer, microwave, toaster etc, all crockery, cutlery and utensils.
Utility Room: External utilities store, garage and log store.
Living Rooms: Living room with two twin sofas and two leather rocking chairs. Dining room with seating for six persons. Satellite television receiving Portuguese channels and UK BBC, ITV, and Sky free to air channels. CD/DVD player.
Other: The children's room has a single bed and cot, with standing fan.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
The villa will be fully serviced on changeover day and cleaned again mid-week. All towels and linen are provided and will be changed once per week.

 

Notes on accommodation
Air-conditioning cooling/heating is installed in living rooms and main bedrooms and is included in the rental rates. A barbecue area is conveniently located near to the kitchen door. The log-burning fire in the living room can be used on chilly evenings during the low-season. For peace of mind the villa is installed with an intruder alarm. Wi-fi internet access is provided. Regrettably pets are not permitted, and for the enjoyment of others, guests are requested not to smoke inside the villa.

Accessibility
The villa is built on a single level and is suitable for persons with mobility difficulties. A short flight of three steps lead down to the pool.

Outside
The villa has a spacious courtyard for private, secure car parking. The external areas generally have local clay-tiled or calcada pavings, with shrubbery beds and flower borders. The private 9x4.5m blue mosaic tiled kidney shaped pool is 1m - 2.4m deep and has roman steps and a separate outside shower. Pool heating is available for all-year-round swimming. Garden furniture, a swing seat, sun loungers, tables, and chairs are provided. The cul-de-sac leads to a private grassed recreational area ideal for children to run around in. An external staircase leads up to a small roof terrace where sun loungers and chairs can be placed for private sun bathing, or just to enjoy the sun setting over the mountains.

Coast/Beach
The Algarve is blessed with an assortment of beaches, from long sweeping sandy beaches to secluded sandy coves with towering cliffs. The popular nearby beaches of Gale and Castello are just 10 minutes drive away with cafes and water sports facilities. The busy coastal resort of Albufeira with its new marina is 8km away. All water sports activities are available locally, swimming, snorkeling, scuba, jet-ski, water-ski, game fishing, sea cruises.

Golf
The Algarve is famous for its PGA golf courses. Salgados course is a ten minute drive away, several other courses are within 30 minutes, Balaia, Vilamoura, Laguna, Quinta do Lago, Pineda, Palmeros, and Pine Cliffs, to name just a few. Over 30 top-class golf courses strung out along the Algarve, almost all within an hours drive from the villa, a golfer's paradise!

Travel
Guia is a 30 minute drive from Faro Airport. International and local rental agencies provide a wide range of vehicles for collection and drop-off at the airport. From the airport follow the directions to Faro, then after just 2km follow directions to Portimao along the A22 expressway, exit at Junction 9 Guia, turn left at the roundabout through Guia village direction Albufeira, left at the Quinta dos Alamos signpost (at Tavaguera), right at the T junction and first left into Rua das Pedras.

Distances
The village of Guia, with all of its shops and eateries is just 1km from the villa. The town and nightlife of Albufeira is 8km away, Faro and the airport are 38km away. Other places of interest within easy travelling distance are Loule, Lagos, Monchique, Silves, Portimao, Vilamoura, Cape St. Vincent. Lisbon (the capital of Portugal) and Seville (in Spain) are less than 3 hours away by expressway, coach, or rail from nearby Ferreiras, both are historically interesting and well worth an excursion.

Further details
Guia with it's narrow streets and typical Portuguese architecture offers every amenity you will require. The old village is famous for its numerous eating places, ranging from simple chicken piri-piri houses, typical Portuguese restaurant bars, and international favourites, all with excellent dining at prices to suit all pockets. The village has a daily fish, fruit and vegetable market, a regular visiting gypsy market, local supermarkets, a baker, butcher, banks, cafes and bars. Cliff Richard's residence and vineyards are 500 metres from the villa. The village also has a new medical centre in case of any little accidents. On the outskirts of Guia lies the new Algarve Shopping Centre, a modern shopping mall with supermarket, all kinds of retail stores, boutiques and fashion shops, ten-pin bowling, multi-screen cinema, and it's own fast food and restaurant outlets. Other local attractions within a few kilometers include horse riding stables, Zoomarine park, Big Splash water slide, and Krazy World zoo.
