Coast/Beach
Salema beach (2 min by car) 5-7 mins walk is a lovely long beach dotted with a few remaining fishing boats. Safe for children. The West coast beaches (20 mins by car), are great for surfing and exploring rock pools. For keen walkers there are coastal walks accessible from behind the property (50m) which lead to secluded coves and beaches (10-30 mins). Ideal for wildflower and bird spotting.
Golf
There are 5 championship courses within 5 - 20 mins drive. Parque de Floresta Golf Course and health spa ( 2km) also offer archery, bowling, tennis, 2 outdoor swimming pools, one of which is a children’s pool. There is a fully equipped gym with daily classes of aerobics etc.
Travel
Faro airport 1½ hour. Lisbon airport 3 hours 40 mins. Seville 3½ hours. Trains Lisbon-Lagos and Faro-Lagos run daily. Lagos is 20 mins by car. There is a 30 euros shuttle service every hour from Faro airport to Salema. Details on request. Car hire is recommended. Regular bus service to Lagos and Sagres.
Distances
Historic, bustling town of Lagos with its fish and vegetable market, shops, restaurants and marina is 20 mins drive. Regular buses run from Salema (35 mins). Cape St. Vincent, the most Southerly tip of Portugal 20 mins. Mountains of Monchique and Silves 1 hour.

Salema has 3 well stocked supermarkets selling meat, vegetables, fruit fresh bread, croissants etc. Ecomarché is the nearest big supermarket and is 10 mins by car. There are several restaurants whose specialities include daily fresh fish, grilled chicken, sea food dishes and more. There is local travel agency with internet facilities from where you can book a
Dolphin Safari, local boat trips and trips to Lisbon and Seville and much more. ATM machine in the village.
