Quinta Bavaria is a lovely holiday destination for families or couples who want to relax and get away from it all in peaceful surroundings. Five comfortable, 1 and 2 bedroom villa-style apartments are set in tropical, landscaped gardens with beautiful views and a heated pool. Explore the grounds, play cricket on the lawn, pick fruit from the orchard or simply relax by the heated pool. Evenings can be spent dining by moonlight on your patio or at the poolside picnic area. Surrounded by quiet countryside, Quinta Bavaria is still only a five minute drive from the long stretch of golden sand at Meia Praia beach and from the shops, restaurants and nightlife in the busy picturesque marina town of Lagos. The apartments are available together or separately and suit individual bookings or family groups of 10 to 16 people, offering the space, privacy and convenience of separate accommodation whilst sharing the beautiful outdoor facilities.

Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. There is a 10% surcharge for one extra person per apartment. Add 10% for Christmas and New Year weeks.

Saturdays during July and August, optional for the rest of the year.

A spacious ground floor villa style apartment with 2 bedrooms.

Kitchen is fully fitted with fridge/freezer, cooker with oven with pantry store room and door onto a 2nd, covered terrace.

Living/dining room with patio doors onto sunny private veranda with furniture and barbecue, overlooking the gardens.

Apartment Colina. One bedroomed ground floor apartment sleeping 2 adults and a child.
Bedroom with twin beds, air conditioning, fitted wardrobes and en suite bathroom with bath, shower and bidet.
Fully fitted open plan kitchen with microwave, gas hob and electric cooker. Lovely views of the countryside.
Living room with sofabed, satellite TV, CD and DVD player and ceiling fan. Patio doors onto a spacious terrace surrounded by grass and flowerbeds.

Notes on accommodation
Each apartment is individually designed and furnished to a high standard, each offering villa-style space and comfort with its own terrace or balcony overlooking the gardens.
Towels and linen are provided, although guests should bring their own beach/pool towels.
There is a weekly maid service during stays of more than 1 week.
A complimentary welcome pack of groceries is provided - enjoy a light snack and relax by the pool before having to shop.
A cot, highchair and baby car seat are all available free of charge.
Golf clubs and tennis rackets are available for hire.
All guests have free access to a laundry room with washing
machine and tumble dryer.
Sorry, no pets.

Outside
The property itself is surrounded by 2.5 acres of mature gardens and colourful flower boxes with a large area of lawn towards which all the apartments face. Beyond a rockery boasting some enormous cacti is the orchard, which contains a variety of trees including oranges, lemons, grapefruit, walnuts, pomegranate, plums and more. These are offered complimentary to all guests, as are home grown vegetables, when in season.
The heated pool measures 10m x 5m and is surrounded by both terraced and grassed sunbathing areas with sun umbrellas, chairs and comfortable loungers from which to enjoy the unspoilt views towards the Monchique hills. It is fenced off from the apartments and garden. There is also a shaded picnic area next to the pool which is ideal for outdoor dining.

Coast/Beach
Meia Praia beach is about 3km away and is a perfect distance for those who enjoy country walks - it can be reached on foot in about 45 minutes. But only 5 minutes by car..

Golf
Palmares golf course is 5 minutes away, Boa Vista is within a 10 minute drive. There are at least 5 more within half an hour.

Special interest holidays
When rented as a whole, the property lends itself to large groups and special occasion get-togethers.

Travel
Faro airport is 75km away and can be reached in 45 minutes. Lisbon airport is approximately 300km or 3 hours by car. Car hire is recommended for the duration of any stay, although taxis to and from Lagos are reasonably priced and reliable. We can organise car hire at competitive rates through a local company.

Distances
Odiáxere, our friendly local village, is 1km or a 15 minute walk away. It offers a selection of local restaurants and bars, a restaurant with international cuisine, a daily fish and vegetable market, barkery, chemist, post office and several mini-markets.

The picturesque town of Lagos is 5km away, less than 10 minutes by car. Supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants, and nightlife can all be found within the ancient city walls in an unspoilt, harbourside setting.

Further details
The property is reached from the main road by a country lane (tarmac) which then continues towards the beach. Inside the gates, the Quinta is approached by a long gravel driveway lined with trees, at the end of which there is plenty of parking space. The perimeter is well fenced and hedged. Quinta Bavaria has been praised by birdwatchers for the number of species seen whilst simply sitting on the patio! The surrounding area provides habitat to an abundance of bird and wildlife and is perfect for walkers, ramblers and birdwatchers alike.
The resident English owners maintain the property to a high standard and keep an apartment for their own use. They are on hand if needed, but all the facilities remain for the sole use of guests.

Booking notes
A 25% deposit is required to secure a booking with the balance due 8 weeks prior to arrival. There is a 10% surcharge for use of a sofa bed. Utility costs in winter are not included. There is a charge for heating the pool between 1 November and 31 March.

Guest comments
We have received so many appraisals that our guest books in each apartment make fine reading. Approximately 40 percent of our bookings are returning guests.
