The villa is situated on the fringe of the tranquil Colinas Verdes (Green Hills) estate which comprises individual luxury villas, each in their own grounds. It was built to our exacting specification in the traditional style of the Algarve and has been tastefully furnished as our second home. It offers extremely spacious and comfortable accommodation and is equipped to a high standard. The principal rooms, pool and terracing all enjoy exceptional views across the adjoining countryside to the distant hills beyond. Our maid visits 6 days a week to clean and tidy the villa and to make the beds, and our Agent is available nearby should any problems arise during your stay. A welcome food pack is provided for your arrival. The private mosaic-tiled swimming pool (10m x 5m) is surrounded by extensive sun terracing with a nearby shaded dining area and barbecue, the whole enjoying far reaching views.

Prices for long winter lets subject to negotiation. However, regrettably, no dogs allowed.

Changeover day
Our standard change-over day is Saturday after 15.00 on arrival and departure before 10.00. Limited access may be possible outside these times by prior arrangement. We may be able to accommodate alternative change-over dates outside the peak season.

Guest bedroom/bathroom suite with queen sized bed, private terrace and views. 2 further twin bedded rooms, each with terracing and views over gardens.
Bathrooms: 3 full bathrooms, each with bath, shower, basin and bidet (2 en suite to master and guest bedrooms). Separate cloakroom with shower. Principal bathroom completely refitted for 2010 season.
Kitchen: Oven, hob, 2 fridge/freezers, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and ironing board, etc.
Living Rooms: Spacious living room with fireplace and 32” flat screen, Satellite TV with VCR/DVD and CD/MP3 players and an adjacent dining room, both with direct access onto the poolside terracing and fabulous views.

Notes on accommodation
Air conditioning in each of the 4 bedrooms. A security alarm system is fitted for the added protection of our guests.

Outside
The private mosaic-tiled swimming pool (10m x 5m) is surrounded by extensive sun terracing with a nearby shaded dining area and barbecue, set in about 1/3 acre of very pretty landscaped private and well-screened gardens, the whole enjoying far reaching views over open countryside to the valley and distant hills beyond.

Coast/Beach
Around Lagos (approx 5 miles) are many pleasant beaches which offer good swimming and the opportunity for fishing and various forms of watersports. Within half an hour’s drive from the villa, through spectacular undulating countryside, is the western coast of the Algarve, with its more remote atmosphere. Here you can enjoy clear blue stretches of coastline and long sandy beaches. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty with its coastal flowers and cacti.

Golf
There are 5 fine golf courses within easy reach. The courses at Penina, Alvor, Boavista and Palmares (Meia Praia) are all within about a 15 minute drive, and the more spectacular and challenging course at Parque de Floresta (Vale do Poco, Budens) is about a 25 minute drive along the Sagres road.

Special interest holidays
Also within a 20 minute drive is the magnificent new motor racing circuit, Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, where top international motor racing events are held throughout the year.

Travel
Faro airport is within about one hour's easy drive, mainly by motorway.

Distances
Situated about 5 miles away, Lagos is a bustling ancient Portuguese harbour town, largely unspoilt by tourism, and is well worth exploring. The small village of Bensafrim is within about 2 miles.

Further details
The centre of Lagos has lovely old squares and pedestrian streets full of pavement cafés, restaurants, bars and shops. Here you will find the major banks and Post Office. Nearby is the Tourist Office with full details of local places of interest. Adjacent to the centre you will find the large central fish/meat/vegetable market, and the palm fringed promenade overlooking the harbour and sea. From here exciting boat trips can be taken to the magnificent caves and bays in the famous rugged Portuguese coastline and the lovely old fort, which juts out to sea, and museum can be found. A large supermarket offering comprehensive facilities lies just across the river bridge on the near side of town. There is a small supermarket and a few restaurants in Bensafrim, suitable for everyday needs. The interesting town and spa at Monchique, the historic town of Aljezur, Cape St Vincent and the spectacular Barragem da Bravura (dam and scenic reservoir) are all within easy striking distance.

Booking notes
Requests for a brochure and other queries can be made by telephone or email, and provisional bookings will be held for 48 hours pending receipt of a completed booking form and 25% non-returnable deposit. The balance will be due two months before departure.

I am a retired Chartered Surveyor living in West Sussex and built our villa to our design in 1990. We have continuously carried out improvements and refurbishments so that we maintain the high standards that we and our clients expect.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We chose the plot on which the villa has been built because of its quiet, yet accessible, elevated position. The villa has been designed and orientated to maximise the exceptional rural views to the distant western hills and these attributes are as valid today as they were when we made that initial decision.
