A haven of peace in a beautiful quintal - at the entrance of the picturesque village of Figueiró dos Vinhos set amidst pine woods and olive groves. secluded but not isolated. Bedrooms with verandas offers peace and shade, the pool and BBQ-area and large garden all enjoy glorious uninterrupted views of forests and distant mountains. Lovely walks from the door. Ideal for families, there is plenty to do, walking, cycling, water sports, fishing, canoeing, historic sites and much more – in fact you may find your stay is not quite long enough…. Lots of places to visit: for the famous sites and a little retail therapy, the splendour of Coimbra is less than an hour by car. And other places of interest such as Conimbriga, Fatima, Batalha, Tomar and Buçaco are within easy driving distance for a spectacular day out.

Outside
Special mention must be made of the gardens, which are quite nice: 7hectares of little terraces, big rocks, winding pathways and a pond, a series of cascades and unspoilt Portuguese nature.
Coast/Beach
Great to swim in the nearby rivers and lakes. The latter, especially, are almost tropically warm in summer, and the water nearly always crystal clear. They are also normally set in lovely scenery, and in the rivers you will have close contact with nature – you will be surrounded by little green fish, and it’s not at all unusual to spot a kingfisher flitting overhead. It will be a rare and unforgettable experience for you and your children!

On request, Heidi will even teach you how to cook the most delicious Mediterranean meals in on of her workshops so you can take home some of the excitement (€50/pp).

Supermarket, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, banks, internet cafe, Doctors Surgery are 10 minutes drive from the house.
Conimbriga, Fatima, Batalha, Tomar and Bucaco are within easy driving distance for a spectacular day out.
