Bird watching / butterflies/ flowers /fungi /varied range of Algarvian wildlife. Interesting wetlands and specialist tours run safaris to see flamingos. Nr Tavira.

About the owner
On retirement,I invested in a holiday home on the Algarve.3 little grandsons are pleased I did! I was captured by the unique charm of the small fishing village of Ferragudo. Daily landed catch, BBQ'd on the quay and served from adjacent restaurants. Portugal at its best! The small town square is the hub;cafes, bars serving coffees & Sangria,a delightful meeting place!Bank,Post office,chemist,baker & butcher.Occasionally there is music and dancing in the Square for the entire community. It feels like going back in time, cobbled streets leading to the tiny church perched on top of the hill. Villa Lourenco is close to beautiful beaches,superb restaurants, cliff walks, Marina, wildlife marshes and much more. From Portimao to Cape St Vincente, Western Algarve is a joy for all ages to explore.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Less than a 3 hour flight from London the Villa Lourenco is under an hours drive from Faro airport. Portuguese people are family friendly and I have made many friends despite my attempt to learn the language! The house is an easy, safe stroll to the beach, snack bar and restaurant. Despite all the amenities one would expect to find on holiday, and there are many in the area, Ferragudo is, in my opinion one of the few remaining local fishing villages untouched by commercialism.
Golf, tennis, fishing, snorkelling, easily available. Boat trips,water taxi to busier Portimao & Praia Rocha for Marina & night life, excursions,eg.Silves Castle,Bird Sancturies
Some restaurants will do take out meals.

The villa is in a quiet area but with good access to public transport. The spacious property is gated and railings for child safety. The private pool (heated and floodlit if requested) BBQ and roof terraces make for a relaxing holiday.
